Our Solar System is orbiting the center of our Galaxy at about 220 km/s so in 2025 we collectively traveled something like 7 billion kilometers across the Milky Way. Once in a while, when you have a moment, it’s worthwhile to take a look around, see where you are, and appreciate how far you’ve come.

After last November's election, I took a big fat pause from consuming news and political podcasts. In January, I chose to invest in books instead, and was surprised earlier this week to realize I made it through 25 books this year. I am a little less informed, but I'm definitely less angry...

It's almost as if the Enlightenment figures who founded the US had learned the lessons of Europe's wars of religion and created a secular state that would both protect worshippers from political interference, AND protect the polity from becoming dominated by religious sectarians.

No one says to legit business owners, "hey I see there's an underground market selling toxic knock-offs of your product: how will you incorporate the toxic product AND protect your customers against its harms?" But apparently it's fine to make this suggestion to educators with respect to AI.

And remember, no matter how hard you try, you can't save everyone. Practice withdrawing and prioritizing your own health when you're supporting others in dire circumstances.
There’s been so much loss within the disability community lately … it’s important to remember to be kind to one another.

Take space when you need it.

Rear & unplug.

Wear a mask.

Boost mutual aid.

Practice community care.

We’re in this together.

Important piece by Prof. Kate Andrias. This is why treating SCOTUS as the only word on the Constitution gives away our power as citizens.

As I frequently say “we are founders and framers” of the next iteration of democracy in this country.
