This morning is oral argument at the Supreme Court in Cox Communications v. Sony Music Entertainment.

Cox unfortunately isn't pressing this point but it is an enormously important First Amendment case involving online free speech.

Here's the amicus brief I wrote:

You may think that you’re testers and engineers are able to figure this out on their own. You will be proven wrong. Every input an AI has can be a source of problems. Things you never foresaw will come to light. Better that you find the issues than your customers.
Version 1 of the OWASP AI testing guide just got published.

I promise you, from my own experience, this will save you a lot of heartache.

I feel like every scene I draw for Gilt is a real struggle and I am never satisfied, but then I put the character sprites over my WIPs and seeing them hanging out in that world makes me happy.

I’ve spent a chunk of this month just reading the hell out of these two books and I wrote down what I think is up with them and how they speak to where D&D is going.

You may know DivX as a codec, but did you know that it was also once a competing format to DVD in the late 90s?

DivX movie discs had DRM that required a fee of $4.49 to unlock by phone and modem for 48 hours. Then they'd go unwatchable until you paid $3.25 for another 48 hours.

What's hilarious is that competent programmers, as well as people studying programming for the very first time, know that all code you write after about 4 hours is garbage. Totally useless, none of it worth salvaging.

Actual programmers hear "I coded for 36 hours" and hear "I gooned for 36 hours"

I'm not one for consumerism and I don't participate in Black Friday deals, but I will say that the fact that a colleague of mine chose to run with a design I customized and make it available on shirts for others does bring a smile to my face today. 😁👍🏳️‍⚧️

There’s a similar thing happening at exec level across orgs, all around AI.

Many execs will read this link and think ‘our employees are just idiots who don’t like change, I’ll change them’. The employees aren’t the idiots who don’t know how to do their jobs.

Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests

There’s a wonderful Ubisoft NFT exec interview where he basically said gamers, their customers, were uneducated and just didn’t understand NFTs.

Several years later, they’ve flushed millions down the toilet on failed NFT projects that gamers who said they wouldn’t buy indeed didn’t buy.
What a great headline
