Hopefully that we'll have seen years of aid and reconstruction reach Syrian, with recovery for the thousands hurt or detained by the Assad regime. And free and fair elections. Hoping for the best case scenario, even if it might not happen.

You can't fight over eating with movement/exercise. If you eat 500 calories too much a day (which is extremely easy) you will need to run 8km extra each day to burn that. That is so not sustainable.
My rule is always, losing weight == eating less.
Exercise is for other healthy benifits.
