People love outdoor dining, yet PBOT is dead set on removing every last outdoor dining area in the city.

Send a quick email to the Mayor's office and your city councilors, ask them to reign in PBOT. It takes 60 seconds to send a short message.

we're officially entering a very scary time for portland transit. the cuts this year and next year won't be the end, and the combination of rising fares and falling service levels are going to mark the end of our fragile post-covid ridership recovery www.opb.org/article/2025...
TriMet’s first service cuts begin Sunday as $300M budget gap looms
Portland metro area’s transit agency expects to cut service by 10% over the next two years.

i’d like to offer the now-reasonable-by-comparison proposal that we just revoke their ability to vote for state offices for a very modest 4-6 year period and revisit once we see if that’s improved things somewhat

Folks, don't forget. The 3rd annual Exploding Whale Day Bike Ride is *THIS* Wednesday at 6:00PM.

The governor probably won't explode a whale, but we will. Be there or be square!

Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

I was pretty upset to learn about this. I think this was a poor decision and it threatens to set us back. We need people like Director Hisserich to help us chart a path out of our high cost housing system, and actually build something that working class folks can afford. 🚩
Shake-up at the Portland Housing Bureau: Mayor Wilson put director Helmi Hisserich, an "unparalleled expert" on social housing, on leave with little explanation Thursday. She has been in the role since early 2024.

💔For every traffic fatality there are at least 10x that many victims of traffic violence who have life altering injuries, economic impacts, trauma.

We can't police our way out of this violence. We can however, as a community, decide to invest in making streets that improve the quality of our lives.
I don’t cover transpo in Portland but I live in District 1 and I gotta say, it is just a blood bath out here with traffic violence. Two pedestrian fatalities last night (102 & Halsey and 122 & Glisan). These lives are just two of the countless consequences of ignoring an entire corner of the city…

One week left to do this. It’s hugely important so that we don’t die in a fireball.
Everything is stupid and dangerous right now, *but* we have an opportunity to make a least one thing less stupid and dangerous.

Please submit a comment to the PDX city planners asking them to prevent any further expansion of liquid fuel storage at the CEI Hub and mandate a fuel drawdown.

PBOT knows how to properly handle a bike lane at a bus platform. A choice was made to maintain bike-bus conflicts, and to subject buses to delays from having to merge back into traffic.

I respectfully disagree here. The vast majority of people can either bike or use another sort of device on a bike lane (like a mobility scooter).

It's true that bikes can be limited by parking at high-demand destinations, but transit has trouble serving different types of irregular routes.
I buy that. Bikes are fundamentally niche, transit (and walking) is the only mobility system in a metropolitan context that can truly be fore everyone

Big safety win for kids!

City will Daylight 200 intersections w focus on schools + places people walk to. Daylighting, moving parked cars 20' back, makes kids more visible.

Oregon Walks, modal boards, BikeBus + BikeLoud have been advocating for years for this change!

Thanks @pbotinfo.bsky.social!

“Ultimately, e-scooter injuries reflect a broader issue: our auto-centric transportation system puts VRUs at risk. As we retrofit our streets to prioritize safety over speed, let’s also close the regulatory gaps for e-scooters, so every rider can get home safely.”
