But that’s not likely. So why not start with our states’ AGs issuing arrest warrants for all the civilians involved from Trump on down? International law is binding under state law as well as federal.
Trump must be impeached immediately. This is not how a democracy functions.

Tariffs as a % of GDP are at the highest level in more than 100 years amidst Trump's trade war—even though tariff rates are still lower than in the 1930s, they have a much higher impact because trade volumes are much larger than in the past

As Trump & his Neanderthals upend science, California is stepping up. We’re hiring the best & brightest. We’re forming our own regional CDC. And I’m authoring a measure to ramp up our investment in scientific research (SB 607).

We won’t let them drag us back to the dark ages.

As reported in multiple outlets @fairsq.bsky.social has submitted a complaint against FIFA President Gianni Infantino with the FIFA Ethics Committee alleging repeated breaches of article 15 of the FIFA Code of Ethics which requires football officials remain politically neutral in dealing with govts.

This barely begins to capture the vileness of Infantino or the sheer evil of Trump. Way too polite, but so glad to see it out there anyway!
ICYMI: Wrote this w/ @edgeofsports.bsky.social to break down the multiple levels of sycophantic absurdity undergirding FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s decision to deliver the confected "FIFA Peace Prize” to Donald Trump
FIFA President Gianni Infantini used the World Cup draw to bestow a made-up award, the FIFA Peace Prize, to Donald Trump, a president inflicting violence both at home and abroad. @edgeofsports.bsky.social and @julesboykoff.bsky.social take a look at this absurd, risible act.

It is, and I really mean this, indefensible for the University of Oklahoma to remain accredited as an institution of higher education.
From the Oklahoma U student paper: the school is now saying it will automatically suspend faculty (with pay) in response to student complaints

I welcome the decision of the Council on our proposal to continue the immobilisation of Russian Sovereign Assets.

We are sending a strong signal to Russia that as long as this brutal war of aggression continues, Russia’s costs will continue to rise.

O, ffs.
SCOOP: Academy Award-nominee Liam Neeson narrated a recent anti-vaccine documentary that glorifies RFK Jr.’s rise to power.

In the film, Neeson—a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador—calls the COVID-19 vaccines “dangerous experiments.”

Thank you Governor.
For the next two days, RFK’s handpicked advisory committee will meet in DC to debate childhood vaccines.

And let's be real — we can’t trust them to choose evidence over ideology.

In Massachusetts, science still matters. The health of our children matters. And it always will.

Exactly. Both sides are not equal.
Leading figures at NYT and other big media organizations are "are adamantly opposed to recognizing bad faith, so they let themselves be used, over and over, in an endless attempt to find reasonable common ground with political forces bent on division."

And they never address this critique. Ever.

It’s wrong to lump all top Trump people in one category. There are differences among them. But they do seem to fall into three (sometimes overlapping) categories:

• Ordinary criminals (grift and corruption).

• Sex criminals.

• War criminals.

Important thread on the crisis in academia
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.
