You're not the audience for the MTG glow up happening because you (as an individual) would never be in an actual position to make common cause with her or to reject her in some nebulous "coalitional" political way. This is the elite speaking to other elites to shape elite opinion.

for the love of god, AI systems aren't "just tools that are neither good nor evil in and of themselves". AI systems *are* tools of capitalism. they exist as tools of capitalism. there is no AI system "in and of itself" outside of capitalism

damn. I just searched and the piece I wrote for them years ago about domestic violence and Title IX is gone
Hello repro writers from the mid to late 20 teens - I just discovered Cosmopolitan at some point pulled almost every politics/repro story from the 5 years I wrote for them offline (except two, which they put under someone else's name and gave me "additional reporting" which it very much was not)

So irritated with AI slop. Looked up a dog breed out of curiosity under "images". Even though I had "hide AI images" set, I still got obvious AI images, which looked like a totally different dog than real photos of the breed. Had to manually flag as AI then refresh the whole search to remove them.

this is a near-exact definition of most prisons in america, especially in the south. they aren’t CECOT but they are still horrific. americans have never really opposed such conditions. they oppose the lack of due process and trump’s gestapo, & thermostatics gonna thermostatic. but let’s be real here
The CBS investigation portrays a modern concentration camp, similar to the Soviet GULAG (like CECOT, an acronym): sadistic guards, 24 hour lighting, isolation cells.
Americans once opposed this inhumane system.
The Trump administration sent innocent people there to suffer.

The first thing ICE did when it was created was raiding meat processing plants in the Midwest and south to help quell labor disputes over safety violations and keep those who weren't detained from getting legal protections as many had kids who grew up locally and were citizens with political power.

But about a month into the job — before divesting — he ordered an end to investigations into crypto companies.

My husband used to brew one that we referred to like this. I believe it was above 10% alcohol because it called for a lot of brown sugar and the entire yeast cake from a previously brewed batch.

ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

Yes, CECOT is a concentration camp in the guise of a prison. The Venezuelans were the first people to *ever* be released from CECOT since Bukele opened the prison in January 2023. Seriously. The first.
These are concentration camps. No other way to describe them. Truly horrific, and none of it surprising in the least.
30 minutes. Some deportees described sexual assault. Detainee describes the guard sexually assaulting most detainees. Lights left on all day. Prisoners not given clean water.

Now the DHS tour. Nobody spoke to the detainees. Noem's video was in a different area of the prison.

Just now, a national trans healthcare felony ban for youth has passed the US House, with 10 year prison terms.

3 Dems crossed party lines to vote to jail providers.

4 GOP crossed party lines to vote against.

It is not expected to pass the Senate, where Dems hold filibuster power.

Story to come.
