Heartbroken by the tragic shooting at Brown University and the two lives lost and those injured. My deepest condolences to the students, families, and entire Brown community.

Thirteen years separate Sandy Hook and Brown University. In 13 years countless people have died in schools and malls and concerts. In churches and on street corners. From homicide and firearm suicide and domestic violence and hate and racism and unintentional shootings and police shootings.

I normally don't get political on here but there are some students that survived the shooting at Brown University tonight that are survivors from shootings at their high schools. The US has failed it's children. There are just no fecking words any more.

The area around Brown University -- which is also where I grew up and now live -- is quaint and picturesque. A postcard version of a New England college town.

But I never thought "this can't happen here." Because there is nowhere in the U.S. where this can't happen.

Hearing about another mass shooting while Christmas music is playing.

Those poor families.

We don't have to live like this.

But this is the society that Republicans have enabled.

As details continue to come in on the shooting at Brown University tonight, this much is clear: two innocent people were killed, and countless others will live with this trauma for life.

We cannot accept this as normal, doing nothing is not an option.

I’ve seen two kids post that the Brown University shooting is the second school shooting they’ve survived.

This should enrage and radicalize everyone.

Kids shouldn’t have to survive one shooting, let alone two.

No more thoughts and prayers.

It’s time to address the guns.

With this latest mass shooting at Brown University, this might be a good time to mention that Bill Clinton’s assault weapons ban reduced mass shooting deaths by 43% - but after George W Bush & Republicans let it expire, mass shooting deaths spiked by 239%.

It's the guns!!! :(

I'm happy Kilmar Abrego Garcia has been released from custody and will be getting his day in court, but that still leaves hundreds of other people we deported to extra-judicial incarceration in El Salvador for whom there is no clear path to either a trial or release. The plan seems to be that […]

Kilmar Abrego Garcia wasn't supposed to be released.

He was released.

Indiana was supposed to gerrymander.

It didn't.

Maybe ordinary people fighting, and not waiting for some savior, is the way to go? As that community organizer said, "WE are the ones we've been waiting for."
