My 4.5 yo would never invade Greenland.
“A diplomatic source said: 'The generals think Trump's Greenland plan is crazy and illegal. So they are trying to deflect him with other major military operations. They say it's like dealing with a five-year-old'.”

That’s an insult to 5-year olds.

A dangerous and corrupt moron.
Trump 'orders US army chiefs to draw up plan to invade Greenland'
Donald Trump has ordered his special forces commanders to draw up a plan for the invasion of Greenland - but is being resisted by senior military figures, The Mail on Sunday has learned.

Synagogue used for auctioning stolen Palestinian land. Is that an illegal use of a prayer hall?
Thursday evening a NYC synagogue held an auction for rich Jewish New Yorkers to buy up stolen land like the plot Mr. Hattab’s home stood on.

Imagine being more upset abt what the people protesting that auction were chanting than the fact that it was happening to begin with.

Even the "apology" manages to link Dr Randa Abdel-Fattah to Bondi. Again.
And what does "apologise for how the decision was represented" even mean?
And who wrote this bit: "Australia's worst terror attack in history."
Pity they don't know some writers to help them with their phrasing.

The catalyst for the implosion of Adelaide Writers' Week may have been the board’s exclusion of Randa Abdel-Fattah on January 8, but the fight over her inclusion in the program had been running at board level for months, reports Nick Feik.
The Adelaide Writers' Week fight rolled out at board level months before Bondi
The emergence of a key letter casts new light on the rationale used by the festival board to uninvite Randa Abdel-Fattah.

In addition to supporting Palestinian writers like Randa Abdel-Fattah, and authors and artists who withdrew from AWW in solidarity, spare a thought for the "little" magazines like @overlandjournal.bsky.social, who have relentlessly stood up for Palestine and have been comprehensively defunded for it

Adelaide Writers Festival 2026 was destroyed because of some cowards' personal vendettas against a Palestinian woman (Randa Abdel-Fattah) & Jewish woman (Louse Adler).
Those cowards will never be appreciated & loved as much as Randa and Louise are. People around the world expressed support for them!

What a mess. This could’ve been completely avoided if the board, y’know, didn’t make such a woeful decision. You reap what you sow etc

Solidarity with Randa Abdel-Fattah, to Louise Adler, and the writers who have withdrawn in protest.
Louise Adler, herself Jewish, said she ‘cannot be party to silencing writers’ after the board disinvited Randa Abdel-Fattah. 180 writers have also withdrawn in solidarity.

Sitting here on my Clapham omnibus, wondering why Adelaide Writers' Week would even consider inviting known Isis-terrorist (as I understand it from these specific comments by Peter Bryden Malinauskas) Randa Abdel-Fattah
Holy shit, this way beyond the pale.

Dr Randa Abdel-Fattah has issued a defamation notice to South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas over comments he made to the media comparing her to violent extremist terrorists. Several media outlets repeated those remarks without challenge and may also be exposed to defamation liability.

I hope Randa Abdel-Fattah is awarded so much money in a defamation suit against Malinauskas that she can afford to hold her own independent writers' festival completely free from political interference.
I don’t know how Malinauskas is managing to make this even worse. This is a horrendous comment - the false equivalence here is horrific

“There’s a history dating back to 2023 of pro-Israeli lobbyists arguing against the inclusion of Palestinian writers…assisted and abetted by the Murdoch press.” 🔥

She called their statement “word salad” that very clumsily linked Randa Abdel-Fattah to Bondi. 💥

there it is. A highly qualified apology to Dr Randa Abdel Fattah and no reinstatement of her invitation, which she publicly requested. They chose to take out the whole program, and the resignation of Louise Adler, over salvaging an incredibly popular and globally significant event.
