I suppose that this encapsulates the problem with how we elect leaders - the skills required to win an election are very different to those needed to run a country or manage a crisis.

There's an argument to be made that this--appearing with an authoritarian thug he invited to the White House and defending him against founded allegations he murdered a US-based journalist--is right up there with dressing down Zelensky as the most shameful televised Oval Office incident of Trump II.
