Oh my gd.

Musk is fucking insane with this quoted sentence from the press release on SpaceX acquiring xAI.

"This marks not just the next chapter, but the next book in SpaceX and xAI's mission: scaling to make a sentient sun to understand the Universe."

You can now live in a Kirkland Unit. This is great
Costco is co-locating housing above a new store in South LA, 800 units.

Unbelievable that we've been building malls & big box stores for, what, sixty years, and never figured this out

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

It's plagiarism at scale, and boy, do I resent having liked something that was plagiarized from someone else's work.
“How can you suddenly dislike art when you find out it’s made by AI?”

For the same reason I can dislike art when I find out the employees were overworked and underpaid.

Because I care about people.

You dipshit.

The problem with asking abolitionists how to prevent violent and sexual crimes is that it presupposes that the current system actually addresses sexual or violent crimes when it categorically does not. The United States has the lowest clearance rates for violent crimes in the developed world.

In 1924, Calvin Coolidge's 16-yr-old son played tennis on the White House grounds w/o wearing socks. He got a blister and was dead from infection a week later.

This is unthinkable today—which is why I wrote this series. Cuz the systems that save us from this kind of fate are in urgent need of care.
For a yr, I've been working on a series for The New Atlantis about the vast systems that underlie our lives. Our ancestors built them up over decades to fend off hunger, thirst, darkness and disease. But too few of us know about them—and they're all at risk. The conclusion is now available online:
Why We Are Better Off Than a Century Ago
Our ancestors built grand public systems to conquer hunger, thirst, darkness, and squalor. That progress can be lost if we forget it.

Went through the set of pictures and I had no idea that petty orange shit goblin put a picture of an autopen up on his tacky wall in place of Joe Biden. If the universe is kind rapey's brain melts out his nose before the cancer gets Joe.
It is real:

The many monarchs of Europe, the slaver's Confederacy, the Kaiser, the Nazis, the Italian fascists, Imperial Japan and many more all assumed that because liberals value peace and human life, that they were weak and feckless and easily beaten.

Go look for them now.
I think fundamentally the problem with post liberal thinkers is that they seem to assume that vanquishing liberalism results in their enemies being converted or defeated and not becoming radicalized into enemies who no longer extend the mercies they once did.

Hello everyone today we are getting some basic menstruation education! No, actually, MOST mammals do NOT menstruate! With maybe one or two exceptions, only primates shed their uterine lining in a regular cycle.

Other mammals have something called estrus.
All mammals menstruate. So why would ours make another mammal think something is wrong?

Maturity is accepting that none of the cool sci-fi things would be practical for an actual military even if they were technologically possible. A mech is just a tank that needs more cover and has more complex maintenance.
