I can't wait to do Three Minute Thesis once I'm a bit further along. #Microbiology #Antarctica #TheThing
I was with my family for my birthday and they didn't want to go to the movies to see Last Jedi, so I went on my own. There were only maybe three other people in the cinema. When Carrie's memoriam went I just started bawling like a baby. I wouldn't have if I was with my mom. It was really special.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

The biggest downside of being vegan is neither the lack of steak nor the added whey powder in everything, it is that I have to go to a special online store if I want to buy more than one type of cheese and then it costs me five times as much. I miss supermarket cheese boards SO MUCH.

I wish we could collect the brains of people who wait for a play to start to begin digging through the several crinkly bags of snacks they brought. Not to study, just that way they'll die.

Incredible rollercoaster of smells on the coach this morning.

Soapy air freshener florals, like that shitty gel you put in bathroom.

Bacon sandwich (hot)

Menthol/herbal candy

'dryer' smell from onboard AC.

I swear to fucking god if someone starts peeling an orange I'm going sicko mode

It is my birthday soon, and I so rarely find popsci books specifically engineered to my niche interests.

(This is almost exactly the book I would love to write after my PhD)

The movie I had a dream about last week where a 70's lesbian cop duo (not a couple) have to solve a crime centered around a women's ballroom disco competition. It was called Ladies Night, obviously.
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

I love Dragon Prince not because it's beautful and disability/gender/sexuality inclusive (it is), but becasue it flip-flops between pre-teen humour and horrifically traumatic drama CONSTANTLY. 'Haha [fart joke]!' 15min later: 'I have sawn off my leg and resurrected my dead father against his will'

Takes a lot of balls for a straight cis man to make incompetent husband jokes in front of a room of environmental science PhD students, most of which are women and the rest men in rainbow lanyards. Read the room, fella.

I love my attic room and my housemates but unfortunately this is where all the smells from the kitchen tend to accumulate, and I really want to be able to choose whether or not to breath garlic or chicken vapours for three hours. Would it kill someone to bake cookies for once?
