like so many products to come out of silicon valley in the last decade or so, AI is a legal innovation masquerading as a tech innovation. the legal theory seems to be that AI is entitled to everything but liable for nothing.
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.
Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action
Advocates fear such settlements will “financially ruin” the AI industry.

It's incredible that all of the people who would shit on Wikipedia as a source because "lol anyone can edit that" are now 100% reliant on asking questions to the lying robot machine that no human has any oversight over

Absolutely pathetic to see Japanese Breakfast advertising AI slop.

A sellout in the truest sense of the word.

this has me feeling secondhand embarrassment down to the molecular level 💀
I spoke to the person who AI-generated the Chicago Sun-Times reading list. Says he's very embarrassed. This was part of a generic package inserted into newspapers and other publications, so likely to run elsewhere. He didn't know it'd be in Chicago Sun-Times

"I can't believe I missed it because it's so obvious. No excuses," the writer said. "I'm completely embarrassed."

I find myself getting sincerely emotional about this. That he’s, under the circumstances, okay. That his wife and kids know this after an agonizing month without him. That a Democratic politician cared enough to go and see him, even after getting told no at first. Trying matters. Fighting works.
I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

honestly, it was incredibly moving to see a senator harness some of their power in this way. I hope more are inspired to match this energy
