Devastated and heartbroken about Rob Reiner and his wife. It's a tremendous loss to both the entertainment industry and the disenfranchised. Rob was a courageous and outspoken advocate for people in need and a true advocate for Democracy. His loss will reverberate for years to come. 😭

If you don't believe this can happen, women didn't have the legal right to have their own credit cards without needing a male co-signer until 1974, when the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) was passed, a landmark law that made it illegal to discriminate in lending based on sex or marital status.

Each semester I go in my classroom and I try to figure out what we would use to block the doors, if it would be safe to crawl out the windows, where we could hide if there was a mass shooter in campus. It’s such an indictment of this country how we have normalized these preventable tragedies.
