porn is not evil.
sex is not evil.
pleasure is not evil.
kink is not evil.

none of them are things to feel shame or embarrassment about.

none of them deserve the heavy-handed censorship that they're facing.

resist oppression (even if you don't partake in what is being oppressed)

Fellow LGBTQs - will you be celebrating pride this year? I somehow don’t feel like dancing to Gaga in sparkly hot pants is appropriate at this time? Chatted to Jude Guaitamacci of Trans Solidarity alliance about this in the lbc studios today, as trans ppl + allies stage the biggest lobby since s28.

“the BBC have heard complaints that their Glasgow edition of Question Time featured no-one from Glasgow’s third largest party, the Scottish Greens. To rectify this we have invited Glasgow’s sole Reform UK councillor to appear on the next episode”

Reminder: Scotland doesn’t have any Reform MPs or MSPs. But there’s a Reform councillor appearing on Question Time 👍

Jaia Cruz got 15 years in prison for defending herself against her attacker because she's trans while this shitstain murders a queer, indigenous man in front of his husband in broad daylight and gets out on bail.

They'll lock us up for defending ourselves, but make sure those who kill us walk free.

There's a straight line from the normalization of harassing queer people online as a right-wing sport, to politicians replatforming violently queerphobic agendas, to the emboldening of those very right-wingers in moving their stochastic violence from radicalization chambers to offline.
A reason I get so angry when people diminish stochastic terrorism's role in shaping our society is because when things like the campaign of terrorism & subsequent hate killing of Jonathan Joss happen we all instinctively acknowledge that it may not have were the perpetrators not emboldened.

it took eighteen hours to read the names. eighteen. just for the children.
Public figures, including Steve Coogan and Nadia Sawalha, joined an 18-hour-long vigil in London to read aloud the names of thousands of Palestinian children killed in Israel’s war on Gaza.

So, I think it's time I begin, in detailed specifics, talking about the mess that is Unbound / Boundless as a book publisher, in essence stealing most of a years royalties from me and many other authors, as a result of poor financial decisions, and legal BS.

Please read and share this thread.

a lot of people treat trans women's inability to get pregnant as read through a kind of cis male privilege and not "the failure of this strata of women-things to bear children for the family is a central part of what marks them for extremely high levels of sexual exploitation and murder"

Support Katelyn, she gets our voice into the mainstream media like few others and we need that to prevail in these dark times!

I SCREAMED
A person's family name is so meaningful because it unites the two most cherished things (ethnonationalism and ignoring women's contributions).

Perfectly happy to protect the wealth of the super rich.

What about protecting nature?

We're in a biodiversity crisis - and these years we're losing are devastating.
THE GUARDIAN: Nature-friendly farming fund faces drastic cuts, leaving small farms vulnerable as the government prioritises profits over biodiversity in a contentious post-Brexit landscape.

A helpful clarification on how it works. Smart people should notice who gets fired and why, versus who does not and the freedom they have to speak freely on their chosen topics, and draw the appropriate conclusions about the limits of public debate in private spaces in the UK.

must be baffling for the Guardian US writers to have to run this piece and realize during fact-checking that every single bonkers headline they're citing was published by the Guardian UK
This is a bit fucking rich coming from The Guardian.

The very paper that shoved transphobia down our throats for years in the interests of "balance" and "hearing from all sides" is now pretending that they were never part of that moral panic and they saw through it immediately.

Yeah...right.
