This gets at something that I haven’t really been able, or willing, to articulate about all the talk about due process: Let’s say we gave all the due process in the world to someone and found that he was a member of a gang. Should we even then send him to a gulag known for its human rights abuses?
It shouldn't matter if Trump’s victims have criminal records. If we only defend the “innocent,” the fascists will argue that their victim “was no angel.” An anti-fascist rhetoric that carves out exceptions for imperfect victims is a gift to our opponents.
