Remember that the phrase "American love affair with the automobile" was invented by a car-industry copywriter for 1950s spon-con.

From Portland to Chicago to Philadelphia, transit agencies across the U.S. are facing existential peril. If you’re not already engaged in the fight to secure stable, robust, long-term funding for transit in your community then now’s the time to roll up your sleeves.
It's time for clear eyed thinking about the potential for the large-scale destruction of public transit in American cities. It could happen in the next two years. Thread... 1/

Trump’s halting of data collection could have effects that last far beyond his time in office.

Even if a future administration seeks to resurrect some of the curtailed efforts, the 2025-29 hiatus will make trends harder to identify and understand.

Detaining and attempting to deport someone for writing an op-ed the government disagrees with is a blatant violation of the First Amendment.

We’re in court today in Vermont to demand that ICE immediately releases Tufts student Rümeysa Öztürk.

The Massachusetts governor, the city, and the university needs to drop everything to locate and free this girl and make sure this doesn't happen again.

This is DEFCON-1. If they do this to someone who wrote an op-ed in a college newspaper, they will do this to anyone they don't like.
Video of the international student at Tufts being arrested by "federal authorities" in Massachusetts has been released and it's terrifying.

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.

NYC’s congestion pricing is working: less car traffic, more foot traffic & big new investment in public transit.

Which, of course, means Trump wants to kill it.

Because he & Elon hate transit. They want more people to drive.

All consistent with Project 2025’s plan to kill transit off entirely.
