Carving pumpkins and watching spooky movies is my favourite Halloween tradition. Jenna and I watched Cabin in the Woods and Halloween while I carved my lil guy and they carved an awesome Octopus.

Men assume Pride & Prejudice is a Hallmark romance when the plot is driven by the Bennet sisters’ fear of starvation because they will be homeless when their father dies. It’s a book about money, about people, and those who dismiss it as saccharine fluff are cheating themselves.

Learning in school is not enough. You must continue to teach yourself throughout your life. Study history, read myths, memorize poems, get acquainted with the greatest philosophers & writers. In an age when tech is cooking many brains, we need an army of autodidacts.

Saw someone say, “Stop hoarding books, we don’t need paper books anyway” and I can’t express how misguided this is. Online libraries disappear, digital books can be altered, and with Big Tech seeking to destroy history and literacy, print media has never been more essential.

One of my students gave me this tote bag that came. with their duvet. It has these cute daisies embroidered or maybe needle punched into the fabric? I got a pair of grey Wrangler cargos at the thift and plan to give them a little flavour by sewing these on.

WATCH: Here’s where Netanyahu says the purchase of TIKTOK is important so Israel can “battle” for public opinion 🤔

(Sure sounds like they plan to manipulate the algorithm, with the help of the Trump allies buying it — and sounds like Elon is helping them too)

So I learned a new pop-tab weave recently and I absolutely love it! I've been testing it with leather rope, ribbon, upcycled rickrack, and bias tape and seeing what holds up best.

He's helping.

Finally started the mend on my sisters campfire blanket. I'm starting with the small holes to get used to mending something like this. Its three layers of Yarn in the weave which Ive never worked on before. Im challenging myself to make both sides seamless if I can #visiblemending

Do you care? That the US Supreme Court just said it's totally fine for ICE to racially profile any of your POC friends? Is it enough yet to stop visiting or nah, because you're not POC and it doesn't impact your enjoyment? Are you able to forgive and ignore this as well?
BREAKING: By an apparent 6–3 vote, the Supreme Court halts an injunction that had prevented immigration agents from racially profiling Latinos in central California.

Sotomayor, dissenting, says the decision is "unconscionably irreconcilable with our nation's constitutional guarantees."

To put this another way: you can't stop it from making things up because *literally all it does is make things up*

It just generates likely text. Sometimes what's likely is also true. Sometimes it's not.

This means it has the same relationship to truth as a magic 8-ball. Literally.
How many times, in how many contexts, from how many internal and external researchers, or from how many CEO's are people going to have to receive this message before they believe it:

"Hallucinations" are an inherent part of the large language model architecture.

Can researchers stop AI making up citations?
OpenAI’s GPT-5 hallucinates less than previous models do, but cutting hallucination completely might prove impossible.
