This guy needs transport from Solano County to LA County (Suisun to Palmdale, CA) if anyone has ideas for getting him there before Monday. His chances of survival are best if he goes asap but I am having a baf time with my neck issues and Chewy isn’t feeling well so I want to keep an eye on him.
Goliath’s hanging in there, not pooping on his own yet but he is more alert and active today and eating for us now unassisted. He’s showing some minor signs of URI, but probably is not going to the emergency vet tonight? Fingers crossed?

the fact that people were told “today you are going to an elementary school to lie to teachers and kidnap kids” and didn’t immediately tell their bosses to go fuck themselves is all you need to know about why ICE should be dismantled
BREAKING: Federal agents in plain clothes and unmarked cars tried to snatch 1st graders from LA elementary schools—told staff they had “parental consent.”

They lied. When pressed, they HID THEIR IDS. DHS admits they sent them. This wasn’t a welfare check. It was a test run for a police state.

My sweet sister Wynter has passed away. We are all beyond heartbroken 14 years was simply not enough. You are forever in our hearts.

Protest changes the permission structure. It says fascists will not be allowed to proceed unencumbered. And if you didn't think there was anything to be done, a protest shows you many think otherwise.

When I said 10 years ago that we didn’t need to fear intelligent AI nearly as much as we need to fear dumb AI used by people who think it’s smart, I was really hoping to be wrong but now none of us can retire because AI is bad at math
Trump’s new tariff math looks a lot like ChatGPT’s
ChatGPT may be the White House’s latest economic advisor.

Started listening to "Somewhere Beyond the Sea" by T.J. Klune (follow-up to "The House in the Cerulean Sea") this morning, absolutely sobbed through the introduction. Now Chapter 5 is getting me again. If you care about human rights or civil rights AT ALL and haven't read these books you should.

This is absolutely sickening
The National Park Service has removed "T" and all mention of transgender people from the Stonewall National Monument.

Trans women were some of the most influential activists behind the Stonewall movement and what followed.

3 articles of clothing laws were why raids happened.

Erasure.

This is a great story about exactly why you don't want to end no fault divorce and financial independence for women
So someone asked me to retell the story of the old lady that told me about killing her husband. Are we ready for a trip back in time to 1999? Some of you already know this story, but if you don't it is a wild ride. Apply all appropriate trigger warnings!

We have to do this differently this time around, and one of the ways I hope that we do that is by collectively understanding that people can care about two things at once (or even, gasp, MORE than two things)

especially while people are out there banning books: TALK ABOUT BOOKS!
Seriously, creative folks: Don't be afraid to let people know your stuff is out there for them, or worry that "now is not the time for that." People are stressed and freaked out and looking for the things that will give them a moment of rest and joy. It is EXACTLY the time for what we do. Tell them.

The Trump administration has launched yet another calculated attack on LGBTQ+ lives—this time by withholding access to pre-exposure prophylaxis or PrEP under the longstanding President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
Trump administration takes away life-saving HIV prevention medications from vulnerable LGBTQ+ people worldwide
According to a State Department memo, PrEP can only be dispensed to “pregnant and breastfeeding women” through PEPFAR.

Indiana isn't as big as Texas or Florida, but for those of us in higher education, it's worth paying attention to what is (and has been) going on. Take the Governor's new budget, which cut all of the $10M previously allocated to Martin University, the only predominantly Black school in the state.
