It’s so easy to be an artist. You just do it. That, of course, is why it’s so hard to be an artist. You just have to do it.

People despise how artistic courage highlights their own cowardice. Thus, crave the art, despise the artist.

my random thoughts on it, better said by all the ppl in history

CNN’s Jason Carroll was zip-tied and escorted away—for reporting the news. But they claimed he wasn’t under arrest?

Why are they shooting rubber bullets at and silencing journalists? We still have a First Amendment.

Please highlight this story.

ICE stormed into the wrong house, trashed the place, and made women/girls stand outside in the rain in their underwear. ICE also stole phones, laptops, and cash savings from the family, who moved to OKC two weeks ago.

This is terrifying in America. ICE agents are showing up masked—these abductions must stop. If you’re going to detain someone, show your face, present a warrant, and proper ID. Disappearing people from their families without evidence or accountability isn’t law enforcement—it’s state-sponsored fear.

The abuser’s classic playbook is to isolate you from your friends, create a sense of helplessness, make it difficult to connect with others and force you to simply think about your survival from one day to the next. We are seeing that playbook applied to the nation as a whole.

The library and the post office are the only two systems we have that circulate things widely and to everyone, no matter who they are or what they believe. The library is the only one that, for now, is not forced to pay for itself at point of sale. Attacks on IMLS are attacks on every one of us.

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

I feel like some of us didn’t take that weird ceo seriously when he said workers had too much power, and companies needed to manufacture crisis to remind them why they should be grateful.
Think when we look back on this era, we will realize Trump 2 was a lot less about voter preferences / anti-woke backlash / college campus culture stuff and way more about the plutocrat class being furious at COVID restrictions, rising interest rates, and unionization efforts.
