A) Look at the massive redistribution of wealth that happened in the wake of 2008 financial crisis

B) the “new normal” is taxpayer funded bailouts of wealthy who own “too big to fail” & banks, while everyone else is forced into bankruptcy/foreclosures

C) they now also control alt currency: crypto

I keep trying to get ppl to understand: crashing the economy into an economic depression doesn’t hurt the extremely rich—it helps them…it’s their GOAL…it forces everyone else to sell off all their assets to pay debt—eat—merely survive…allowing the rich to buy up & own literally everything of value

To be clear, it still has to pass the Senate, but it’s a step in the right direction…at least on this one issue.
Oh my gosh you guys! The House just passed my bill to extend the health care tax credits for three more years!

Same thug who punched out a person's car window in Chicago recently.

“What Would Mitch McConnell Do” to become as absolutely obstructionist as senatorially possible throughout Obama’s presidency?

WWMMD is your starting point.
Build from there.

The problem isn’t that Dems lack votes— they lack vision, resolve, principles—*because of THAT* they peel away zero R-votes
if you want the Senate to do something, Senate Republicans must do something.

People are dunking on this but I'm not really sure what plays Schumer has other than to try to peel off Rs.
Schumer: "Republicans must -- if there was ever a time, they must step up to the plate. This is the time. And if they don't, they're gonna feel the heat from their constituents."

A year ago, I went to Copenhagen to write about the political crisis sparked by Trump over Greenland. Danes told me that the US can already do whatever it wants on the island.
Their conclusion: Trump just wants the U.S. to look larger on a map

Nothing says “privilege” like downplaying Trump regime’s murders—human rights abuses—violation of domestic- constitutional- international- law+treaty—kidnapping & killing ppl in ICE concentration camps…

All so you can deride “privilege” from your unthreatened position of racial & economic privilege

I oppose the US operation in Venezuela, but those in Europe who demonstrate against it and did not protest the same way against the Russian invasion of Ukraine are hypocrites and idiots.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon is one of them. In his case it’s because he supports Maduro and Putin

No…this guy is wrong about this

Venezuelans don’t get to tell Americans how this ISN’T evisceration of our Constitution + kidnapping of OUR country by a POTUS blatantly subverting & usurping Congress’s sole Article 1 authority to declare war.

It’s about WAY more than removing Maduro from Venezuela
And this guy is right about this... liberals really need to get with it. We're supposed to be the party that fights for justice and democracy. So -- fight for justice and democracy!

Watch out for this mis/disinfo talking point re: deportations as 2026midterms near

It’s designed to sow anger & distrust against Dems by framing previous D enforcement of immigration law as somehow “just as bad” as Trump’s ICE

Seeing lots of well-meaning anti-Trump ppl buy & uncritically repeat it
Other crucial difference:

Under Obama…those vets were *convicted* criminals…meaning they received due process of criminal law

They also recv’d due process of immigration law B4 deportation

Under Trump…ICE denies their legal due process

The former ‘bad’ thing
grossly ≠
the current bad+lawless one
NOT what I said.

The fact that pre-2017 deported vets were convicted criminals is a HUGE omission, implying that Obama deported vets simply bc they were non-citizens, as Trump’s ICE does now.

Veteran status doesn’t grant criminal immunity. Citizens=jail+criminal record, non-citizens=deportation

Equally funny what he’s trying to mean vs. what’s implicated by use of the words “illegals” & “bum-rushed” in regard to Vatican City…

Who would be “an illegal” in Vatican City?

“Bum-rushed”? Elaborate, please. While already hilarious, my mental picture could be amplified by comedy’s rule of threes
Extremely funny to call the pope “holier-than-thou”

Among the many issues with Weiss’s memo on the CECOT story, most of the additional info she’s demanding, about the administration’s legal rationales and the prisoners’ criminal histories, was actually covered in this piece that ran earlier this year on—wait for it—“60 Minutes”.
