One of my resolutions for 2026 (which I’ve already put to the test a few times) is “no longer accepting non-apologies.”

“I’m sorry you feel that way”.

Apologize for what you did, not how I feel about it. My feelings are mine to deal with.

“I’m sorry if i hurt you.”

No, not “if”. “That”.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

The people of Minnesota have executed one of the most impressive civil resistance campaigns I can remember:

- Organized a city wide general strike
- Maintained nonviolent discipline amidst violence
- Mobilized 10,000s in subzero temps to protest and watch ICE
- Flipped public opinion against ICE

My wife and I went out to lunch today.

My wife: "What is the quality that makes you want to be friends with someone, TK?"

Me: "Kindness. It's always been kindness. If I see someone acting kind to others, I want to be friends with them."

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

It was a pervasive *twisted* logic where God becomes a cosmic abusive spouse: everything you have you own to him, and if he needs to harm you it's only so you'll understand how much you need him, in fact you should BEG him to take everything else away. It's romanticized. Sanctified.

The Evangelical culture I was raised in conditioned me to attribute my own suffering as likely a lesson God needed to teach me (that I might have even incurred on myself though "sin"), if you're wondering how many of them will be rationalizing Trump immiserating them via tariffs

I’m convinced the “do audiobooks count as reading?” argument all derives from those mid-90s summer reading pizza challenges.

Folks - we’re all in our 30s and 40s now. It’s no longer a competition.

Go buy your favorite pie with your adult money and let people enjoy books however they want.

You're not "late to the party" when you enjoy an old book for the first time. Books don't have an RSVP deadline. The party started long ago, and guests show up when they're meant to.
