it's dope how we all know someone is going to kill at least a daycare worker and probably some kids soon but we have to just sit back and wait for it to happen because the venal sclerotic dipshits who are ostensibly the good, reasonable, compassionate ones just don't actually care, at all

The Oregon Ducks will always be the Houston Astros of college football after their cheating refs in the 2006 Oregon vs Oklahoma game. National embarrassment.

It’s increasingly clear that many of the billionaires who have influence in this country like the idea of fascism. That’s on reason there is little attention to this. Money talks, but money can also silence.
Again, the man who’s next in line for the presidency after this walking corpse has said he’s deeply influenced by this outright Nazi, so maybe we could get a little more attention on that?
Curtis Yarvin, JD Vance’s friend & ideological influence, ended 2025 by claiming “only Hitler spoke the truth” about “too many subjects” & “Hitler was a genius.”

Extremism isn’t fringe on the right. Once marginal online extremists like Yarvin are influential at the highest levels of government.

I guess some folks are comfortable with strange white men breaking into daycare centers in a country where white men are disproportionately mass killers.

If you're a Democrat, you're a sucker if you imagine this agency has anything to do with immigration. It is--and aspires to be!--a fascist paramilitary goon squad. You should start saying so and lay the groundwork for starving it of funding when you take power

Bots should not be allowed on social media platforms. They are clearly a net negative for society, by a very large margin.

Interesting to see a far right account on here with nearly 2k followers. Most of which describe themselves as liberal, left, progressive, anti-MAGA, etc. Makes me think they’re all just bots following bots.

The people who dig up this decade old complaint always leave out the Obama voters who voted for Trump. All Obama had to do was bail out Main Street instead of Wall Street and prosecute guilty fraudsters and Trump would not have been a thing.
People acting like Hillary supporters voting McCain in 2008 and Bernie supporters voting Trump in 2016 are alike forget that John McCain wasn't a fascist dictator Nazi.

I was forced to listen to a podcast featuring Kara Swisher and I was actually interested in her assessment of the Democratic Party which she sees as accommodating to big tech and more than that as unlikely to do much if anything to reign them in. Basically they have nothing to fear from the party...

Really dumb to write off entire states that are more purple than completely red.
There’s a reason the political right wants to keep people dumb.

David Shor’s timeline is a perfect example of why data scientists should never be in charge of how to organize society. Just completely ignorant of huge swaths of human history and understanding. They would pretty much prefer humanity to be robots that are fed spreadsheet data.

In addition to being laugh out loud hilarious, it’s a cautionary tale if there ever was one. Perfect metaphor for what’s to come.

America, you have spoken loud and clear: You do not like AI. But what if AI is the way to restart the world’s idea machine?
We’re running out of good ideas. AI might be how we find new ones.
What if the best use of AI is restarting the world’s idea machine?

I’m not an absolutist. I don’t believe any economic -ism in its pure form is the best solution for society. I lean towards socialism & would pick that over raw capitalism. I’m not on board with anyone pushing any economic theory like it’s natural law that can only exist in its pure form.

We are parents of a trans kid and our family takes this very, very personally. If you intentionally make life harder for our beloved daughter, it’s EXTREMELY hard to think of you as an ally, to say the least. @amyklobuchar.com - you still send us requests for money, while hurting our kid. Disgusted.
Here are the 28 Dem Senators who voted to advance the first federal ban on trans athletes & a federal definition of sex that would make trans & intersex people non-existent: Angela Alsobrooks (MD), Tammy Baldwin (WI), Richard Blumenthal (CT), Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE), Chris Coons (DE), ->
By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. (Rand Paul probably voted nay and Steve Daines has been absent).
