Eww. First of all why does this random Israeli bitch have an eagle feather emoji in their pfp, let alone a super racist Irish caricature? Yuck.
I used to teach students about anti-Irish caricatures as a historical curiosity . Then I started noticing it coming back for real around 8 years ago, first from TERFS. The level of Zionist racism is still rather shocking.

I'm just patiently waiting for my pharmacy to open at 9:30 am (kinda weirdly late) so I can ask to pay out of pocket for taxi delivery on my med refills 🙏

Sonny McHalsie is retiring this year 🥹😭🙏❤️
Stó:lō historian Sonny McHalsie is retiring after 40 years
After more than four decades of learning and sharing the stories of the Stó:lō people in the Fraser Valley, Sonny McHalsie is retiring, but he still has a lot of stories left to learn and share.

This is such a lovely piece 🙏
Missing Helen & trying to think of the best way to honor them. Perhaps it is to let myself be useless. Count grass. Maybe sand. Helen wrote,” joy doesn't always come spontaneously. Much like wonder, you have to make space for it in your life” & so I will try.

This photo is me in February, 2024. I was so happy. Little did I know what would happen a month later.

Replacing phonics with rote memorization and guessing what words might sound a certain way was so fucking dumb and I'm sorry kids have lost as much as they have from that very misinformed experiment
They haven't been taught the skills to actually do it. That's the problem. They stopped teaching phonics and replaced it with rote memorization of sight words. They defunded all the arts and humanities they could manage. It's not the same education we all grew up with anymore. It's slave training.

This is so true and so so important
This sounds like a bit but I’m being serious: kids using chat gpt for their homework are denying themselves the invaluable experience of learning how to bullshit their way through a problem. You drink some caffeine the night before and figure it the fuck out. That’s a skill. You need it in life.

I was in the hospital again recently for my longest and most challenging stay thus far and I just gotta shout out to the pain doc who recommended and prescribed me the fentanyl patch for persistent chronic pain instead of the hydrocodone they had been giving me previously. It's a real game changer!

Ok but isn't the major issue here that Drake is literally a goof himself? Apologizing to him is uncalled for
Jagmeet Singh apologizes to Drake, says he “shouldn’t have gone” to Kendrick Lamar’s concert after the rapper called him a “goof.”

I was walking my dog alongside Lynn Creek in North Vancouver when she took off the wrong way and wouldn't listen to recall commands. When she finally came back I told her she was acting like a shit head. In that moment l was crossing paths with Woody Harrelson and he had a good laugh about it
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

This will be interesting to watch—cracks forming in the banks of the #SiteC dam reservoir

Recall: former longtime BC Hydro engineer Vern Ruskin repeatedly warned that slides in the Peace River region's soft shale/silt were a major geotechnical risk for the dam

I feel like Vancouver should have one, but who? No one springs to mind other than some of our more niche musicians like Dan Bejar or Neko Case
I love how certain cities hold their most iconic musicians as patron saints and part of the city's identity. Minneapolis has Prince. We in Austin Have Willy. New Orleans has Dr. John.

Genuinely curious: Who is your city's musical patron saint?

This is exactly what Tom Cotton was calling for yesterday. Indiscriminate violence against American citizens in their own homes and streets

I strongly feel that anyone who calls for an "overwhelming show of force" like this deserves to be met with force themselves. It's their own bloodlust that increases violence and they must be stopped if we want to live in world of relative freedom, safety, and decency for all
