Once the AI bubble bursts (and it will) I’m hoping what Anil describes here — the modest, unexaggerated version of LLMs that make for cool natural language smart assistants and minor task helpers — without all the insane GI expectations, job replacement, and world-ending energy usage.
This was a fun one, went on the Stack Overflow podcast for the first time in years, specifically to talk to that audience of coders about why we shouldn’t believe the hype that LLMs are some kind of magical technology. Grateful to the crew for having me back! stackoverflow.blog/2025/12/23/s...

It's hard to get neurotypicals to understand "I didn't do the task because I was so intensely aware of the need to do this that my brain built a wall around the concept of doing it", so we just say "I didn't do the task because I forgot."

Wasn’t able to watch WS live but apparently the Jonas Bros did some of a song at some point? I cannot express this urgently enough: NO. Baseball is not meant to be associated with entertainment. The beauty of baseball is its uninterrupted agony. The outside world must be barred from the stadiums.

ChatGPT’s new Atlas browser doesn’t just see what you read — it remembers it.

@eff.org’s Lena Cohen showed me it even logged “memories” of her looking for *abortion care* and her doctor’s name. Out-surveils even Chrome.
