Thank you for the TYEE article: Covid 19 turning six.
It’s refreshing to know that there are people still acknowledging the “C”word.
You covered the issues still existing with excellent references.
The medical industry is lagging somewhere in the last century.

It’s still not too late to wear a mask!

Covid and flu are raging. People are traveling for the holidays & getting sick in the process.

A well fitted respirator like an N95 protects you and those around you.

It’s an investment in your health plus it shows solidarity with the disability community.

If you’re dealing with Long Covid - there’s a chance you’re also dealing with MCAS and/or POTS/Dysautonomia.

They’re two of the most common comorbids - and can have a devastating impact on quality of life.

As we experience a huge surge of flu cases, a reminder that the widespread usage of masks at the start of the COVID pandemic wiped out a strain of the flu.

If you haven’t been masking up lately, now would be a great time to restart.

It was reprehensible when people mocked condom usage at the height of the AIDS pandemic.

It is just as depraved to mock those wearing masks to reduce the spread of airborne viruses today.

Whenever someone takes any kind of step to protect public health, they should be applauded, not mocked.

COVID, influenza etc are airborne, transmitted in bioaerosols that require routine wear of N95 / FFP2/3 respirators and high-quality ventilation to stop. If your hospital doesn't have both, the people making those decisions either don't care if you get infected, or are nearly a century out of date.

Dear Jon Stewart,

No one randomly owes you information about their health, their loved one’s health, or, understandably, just wanting to avoid Covid, which is the only way to prevent Long Covid.

OMFG this is so on-brand for public health leadership. Nothing is real until the bodies pile up in statistically significant numbers. Then when they do, it wasn't their fault because if you ignore all the people you don't want to listen to (everyone), how would you possibly know to expect it?
I expected to read this story and find that public health was monitoring harmful substances and that asbestos was not detected downstream of these pipes but nope! Health Canada says there’s no good quality evidence that asbestos is harmful if present in drinking water.

🙃
Asbestos is banned in Canada. Why is it in our drinking water? www.nationalobserver.com/2025/12/29/n... @leahbortskuperman.bsky.social @nationalobserver.com
