It’s notable that the president can go on TV and be a total gutter racist, and somehow this isn’t news in the slightest. Says a lot about the sickness of American society right now.

Some perspective: The S&P opened down -1.3% on Trump's Greenland saber-rattling. That's $750 billion of wealth destroyed -- roughly equal to estimates of the value of Greenland.

For balance, as I do spend a lot of time poo-pooing suggestions that this or that thing is meant as a Nazi allusion, I should point out here that I absolutely believe that this logo is meant as a Nazi allusion, it’s an open and shut case.
Ukip have submitted a new logo and slogan to the Electoral Commission, swapping the £ pound sterling symbol for a cross, that looks very much like it is modelled on the Iron Cross used by Prussia & Germany 1871-1918 and Hitler's Nazi regime from 1933-45

It's not merely that Health and Safety is annoying but it's better than the alternative. It *has* to be annoying. Our stupid brains want to cut corners, especially when there's money on the line. It has to be annoying to annoy us into doing the right thing anyway, even when it's fine 99% of the time
you can blame the bar either way for letting it get that bad, but inspections should have caught it and punished them for it THEN before anyone died from their incompetence. health & safety adherence sucks but the alternative sucks so much worse it doesn't even feature on the same scale
