It's OK for North Korea to send troops to help Russia wage war in Europe.

It's "unthinkable" for Germany, France, Britain and Poland to have their soldiers stop Russia from waging war in Europe.

In what universe does this make sense?

I get the feeling that some Americans think that US troops seizing Greenland will be unopposed. Maybe so. It's a political decision. But if the order is given, Danish troops and potentially other European forces are highly trained, well armed and will take out as many Americans as they possibly can.

I used to work out there (not on trade issues) but everyone around the table understands every MS has domestic issues on certain things and cant vote for them. Sometimes it can be overcome, sometimes not, but Q is volume and reasonableness of those objections, & constructiveness in seeking solutions

This is 👌 overview on 🇪🇸 PM Sanchez stances on US and Trump.

Listening to #antisocial on grok. Samantha Smith (Telegraph/Spectator) describes how she trawls X to decide the subject of her next article. Adam Fleming agrees - journos website of choice.
An eg of how many are still using X even though (or bcos) it’s clearly radicalizing national conversations.

The Russian naval ships trying to help the tanker Marinera withdrew immediately after the tanker got boarded by US forces, according to US President Trump.

Of course, they did.

The framing of this piece really annoys me.

"Ireland’s vote is likely to damage its standing in Brussels," apparently, France (!!) and Poland voting against it seemingly doesn't.

As I wrote back in October, 🇪🇸PM Pedro Sanchez has been like the child in the fable who is the only one willing to point out that the emperor has no clothes.

The rest of Europe's leaders are cowering in fear of America. And so they ostracised Sanchez to make Trump happy.
Pedro Sanchez wants EU independence. EU leaders are trying to silence him.
Conservative European leaders are reportedly preparing to ambush Spain's prime minister at tomorrow's European Council summit, chastising him for refusing to toe the line on Trump's NATO demands.

Only one leader in Europe has been willing to condemn Donald Trump's actions.

For that he has been vilified and ostracised by the other European leaders.

History will have its verdict.

Next target: Mexico

When will it be Denmark's turn?
Trump says the US will begin military action against cartels inside Mexico. Trump said U.S. forces are preparing to “start hitting land” to target cartels, which he claimed are “running Mexico,” and that the military has already curtailed most drug trafficking by sea before shifting focus to land.

I think a lot of people will, somewhere deep inside, be surprised to discover their actual answer to this question. Mostly 'free speech' campaigners, terminally online 'classical liberals' & self-styled 'libertarians'.

Meanwhile, on X a US Congresswoman is calling for full sanctions against the UK in case of further action against X.

Although I estimate both the UK outright banning X and full US sanctions as unlikely, this shows how the mood even towards the 'special relationship' closest ally is changing.
