I like sad music and sad sports teams (Utah, Blue Jays, Bills).

Grew up in Toronto but I now live in London.

When Green party critics call our thoroughly researched policies that are often worked through for years "simplistic" "undeliverable" etc, they are never specific about which policies or why.

That's because it would reveal that what they really mean is "our donors don't like them"

I can't believe people once wanted to tear down this beautiful, rocking stadium at the exact epicenter of downtown so they could replace it with some exurban parking lot hell in Vaughan. DOME FOREVER
BARGER GOES YARD!

Addison Barger hits a home run to drive in Daulton Varsho and the Blue Jays extend their lead to 4-0.

Absolutely bumping in the SkyDome.

“I voted for none of this."

Prominent influencers, including Theo Von, Joe Rogan, and Andrew Schulz, are starting to distance themselves from the president they helped propel to the White House.

One of the reasons why people often prefer debating ("dining across the divide") with the far right than the left is that the former makes them feel good about themselves by comparison

Debates with/amongst the left bring up uncomfortable reflections about our participation in systems of oppression

Perhaps, one day, schoolkids will study this squalid little chapter in British terror-panic history. When they do, I hope these two headlines from today are printed side by side, with clear annotation of which individual faced more outrage and condemnation.

Imagine in 2020 if someone had told you “We will soon release a new kind of AI. It will send psychologically vulnerable people right over the edge. Everyone else it will just randomly tell falsehoods. Also: our governments, employers and schools will force us all to use it every day.”

For the overwhelming majority of people who practice it, sports is not about competition. It's about social belonging. Once you understand that, the reason why transphobes want to ban trans women from it even outside of competition and even in disciplines like darts is pretty obvious.

it's such a classic pseudo-journalistic hustle: accurately but selectively quote from a report you don't cite or link to, and misleadingly characterize, and in this way, produce the story you want while not TECHNICALLY lying, but making anyone who reads you actually less informed about reality

A political movement driven by reasonable concerns about sports and medicine would have no problem admitting that trans people face discrimination. The fact that "gender criticals" constantly deny basic realities is sign 1,087 that they are in fact driven by bigotry.
