I'm here to build connections with thoughtful and creative people so that I might grow, and also find reasons to pleasantly pass the time.

All photos are mine except reposts.

Searching for authentic wherever it might be.

Ok, at this point, with 780 posts, I can no longer remember the photos shared or comments expressed, so allow me to apologize in advance if I repeat myself, because nobody wants to be twice as boring. ;)

Who said flying is limited to the sky?

This footage shows the largest known migration of mobula rays, captured in the waters of Baja California Sur.

Filmed by freediver and photographer Aidan Bedford.
A quiet reminder that art often begins with attention.

As Seen In Paducah
Toni Furst Smith from Portland, OR created this quilt called "Forest Fire" for the Paducah exhibit on fire. She hand quilted, hand dyed fabric, to create a quilt that told a story about how fire is eradicating our old growth forests.

Benedikt Pleyer/Nomadic Nostoc filmed these tiny ostracods collected from the beach of a Japanese island.

Vargula hilgendorfii live in marine sand & emit a mix of luciferase & luciferin that lights up to deter predators.

The same chemicals produce firefly glow.

Deep in the mountains there's a world of untold beauty. It changes in matters of seconds, never to be repeated. Patagonia's Cerro Paine Grande, towering 2.6 km above, emerges in a spectacle of the eternal fight between light & darkness.

An early morning walk in the woods in heavy fog. It was crisp and cool. Fall color everywhere, but of the Florida kind. There's a portal through the pine trees to photograph and immortalize. #photography #landscape #EastCoastKin #longexposure #nature #forests #fog #trees #autumn #fallcolors

I love northern New Mexico; from beautiful rock formations to lush aspen forests. Once again I had to pull over while driving to capture this snow-dusted scene north of Abiquiu. (I pull over a lot 🤭)
