In other news, the Telegraph has published an article frothing about Dungeons & Dragons being woke, and the gaming community is ripping it to pieces for being stupid (and disingenuous).
Even by the standards of anti-woke journalism this is lazy dreck. The first piece of "evidence" that older gamers are mad about wokeness is a random Reddit comment — that isn't a complaint about wokeness.

Today is the 70th anniversary of Rosa Parks' arrest. Six myths: 1) She wasn't old or tired. 42 years old that day, she had a "life history of being rebellious" & had spent two decades helping to turn the Montgomery NAACP into a more activist branch alongside ED Nixon and Johnnie Carr.

The amount of time it takes to grade an essay like this, and to justify the score you give it so you can defend yourself later in the dean's office, is insane.

And because you can't know which student will be the one to complain and go public, you have to give the same attention to all of them.

anyway these are all great books so far and you could do a lot worse than picking one up, reading the first two chapters tonight, and desperately using it as a conversation topic if someone gets a little too weird over pie

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

This is your sign btw that you should call Mastercard
Spoke to my source familiar with internal workings at Mastercard. The holiday call campaign re payment processor censorship is working, there is a lot of pressure being felt from your calls. This is resulting in increased response times at a core moment for Mastercard due to the holiday season

I can see how they got to Plutch and Partarch, but Patrice is REALLY funny.
I don't grade on spelling in blue book exams (/don't really care), but the various renditions of Plutarch in this stack are SENDING me: Plutch, Partarch, Patrice.

Any other Canadians following me: civic duty time! Tell our government that letting credit card companies dictate what we spend money on is nonsense!
The official Canadian Petition to reign in payment processor censorship has stalled out just under 10k signatures.

This is a reminder for Canadians, this is an OFFICIAL petition that will be responded to. Show your support in protecting our free speech!

*They're racist. That's what's wrong. I'm putting my head down on my desk and never picking it up again. How did this get published.
