Symbolism matters and has always played a part in the push for a true multiracial democracy. 🤷🏾‍♂️
It might be cringe lib wine mom of me but I do think it’s pretty awesome that a Black man beat this record while defending the idea that “we the people” are all of us and we should keep working towards “a more perfect union”.
In a 25-hour speech decrying what he described as Trump's "grave" threats to democracy, U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, a Black man from New Jersey, gave the longest U.S. Senate floor speech in U.S. history—smashing the record Dixiecrat Sen. Strom Thurmond set with his 1957 anti-civil rights filibuster.

DOGE recommends cuts to the FAA.

Hundreds of workers get fired, including those tasked with producing air traffic navigation maps.

Now Starlink is reportedly in line to take over a $2 billion contract to upgrade the nation's air traffic control systems.

See how this works?

Need a mind-blowing fact for today? 🤯

The light from *25,000* supernovae may be on its way here from the Andromeda Galaxy.

I was fortunate to be able to study one of them whose light got here in 1885, and was visible to the naked eye!

Naked-eye supernovae and a triply-ringed galaxy
Exploding stars are rarely close enough to see by eye, but it happens. Also: a very cool galaxy with three rings.

In 2019, RFK Jr visited Samoa to spread anti-vax lies, spurring a measles outbreak that led to the deaths of 83 people - mostly children.

We can’t let that tragedy repeat in Texas. The MMR vaccine is 97% effective at preventing measles. Let’s stop the spread.

It's annoying how clearly this is going to play out.

They gut the FAA.
Therefore, the FAA can't do its job well because it was gutted.
Therefore, they say "The FAA sucks, we have to privatize it." which is what Project 2025 wants to do. They're manufacturing the crises for their end goal.

Yeah, this is pretty obvious but worth stressing.

Also, the idea that techbro coders with no experience in government are best able to identify and root out “fraud” is laughable
If you wanted to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, you would empower the inspectors general.

If you wanted more waste, fraud, and abuse, you would fire them.
