Reporters on the ground in Chicago are screaming to be heard over the false narrative that Pritzker defeated Trump there. PLEASE listen to them.
Legacy media and cable news reduced Trump's aggression against Chicago to a question of whether troops would be sent immediately. When he said he was taking his fascist military spectacle elsewhere, those media players declared the situation over—while waves of federal agents attack our neighbors.

I guess I’m speechless. This woman really believes she owned another woman’s body due to a surrogacy arrangement and is entitled to ruin her life because the baby died in utero.

Something is very wrong with this industry.

The Baby Died. Whose Fault Is It?
When her son died in utero, a venture capitalist went to extremes to punish her surrogate.

Substack is back in the news again for the wrong reason: this time, the platform sent a push notification to a neo-Nazi newsletter featuring a swastika logo. Here's Substack cofounder and CEO Chris Best on Decoder two years ago struggling to answer a question about moderating hate speech.

Spending too long in a Nazi bar will make you really good at talking to people who delight in absurdity and bad faith.

And this will make you really bad when speaking to literally anyone else about anything.

Being able to read something and *not* interpret it in the least charitable possible way, is a skill.

A skill that atrophies if it is never used.

This is why you do not want to argue with Nazis, and instead violently repel then from your spaces: they delight in bad faith.

if somebody asked about my journey from whatever i was twenty years ago to what i am now, which is very left wing i guess, it is that i have experienced life. i have seen death. i have seen suffering. i wish only good things for people, and i will gladly pay taxes for it. the negation of suffering.
there is a deep sickness in the american character that believes suffering builds character. and let me tell you, it is not true. agony is just agony. the only lesson i learned from suffering is that i don’t want other people to suffer. it sucks.
The only political split that matters - feed everyone on the off chance one person is hungry, or feed no one on the off chance someone undeserving might get fed

I earnestly can’t handle this horrid culture anymore. Every mainstream story is about our “endless” cycles of violence, unable or unwilling to imagine new futures. Our news is full of a decaying system eating its own tail. We are so isolated and attacking each other. We need to see a new horizon.

I think it *is* a good idea to pull aside people who spent several years hanging out in a nazi bar and go "hey dude, the way you had to act to survive hanging out for some reason in that nazi bar will make you really weird and off-putting when talking to normal people"

The bar becomes a Nazi bar, but more importantly it becomes the basis for a whole ecosystem of people who have a vested interest in protecting the Nazis.

Suddenly you get a whole lot of people who can't afford to piss off the Nazis because that's how they get their bills paid.

If you're using substack and linking to it, everyone else hears it as you going "hey guys check out this cool Nazi bar I hang out in"

It turns out telling people you hang out in a Nazi bar is not a very effective way of advertising yourself.

I feel like the drive to divide humanity in to neat and simple categories drives a lot of this shit.
I guess I'll also gently note that transphobes keep turning out to also be racists. Weird huh.

Please help save Medicaid. Medicaid keeps disabled kids across the US alive and with their families.
If I knew of something more likely to save Medicaid, I’d tell you, because winning - because keeping these kids at home with their loving families - is the only thing that matters here

Helping these parents come beg for the lives of their children is the best move we have. Help me fundraise.

Including at any disability related conference

Conference organizers who have shown no effort or interest in accommodating have shown us what they REALLY think about #immunocompromised / chronically ill people

You can tell people are becoming tolerant to weed lol. When I first started buying, a lot of edibles in the 3mg range were available, and the highest was like 25 mg. Now the lowest are like 10 mg and the highest are 100 mg.
