Hi. My KS didn't make it. I'm entirely "self employed" (i.e. I can't hold down a dayjob). I prolly *should* be on disability, but that won't happen any time soon. I'm lucky to have low living costs, but I do have them...

So, I'm doing a sale...

In a great one-two byronic punch we finished Interview With The Vampire s2 and Deltoro's Frankenstein over the weekend. Both excellent.

I had the pleasure of reading early drafts of this action-packed Fantasy novel. The cast is full of interesting characters, intrigue, guilt, monsters, mystery, and a race against time!
Hello everyone! After endless preparation release day is finally here, and I'm excited to share with you my latest new story, The Fox's Crown!

One last time I would like to thank my incredible illustrator @merilliza.bsky.social and talented editor @tommock.bsky.social who helped make this possible

This video essay is the perfect cross-section of why so much sucks now.

Also it’s well-researched and charming af. As someone who also has a long history of sewing and garment construction, Joann was simultaneously the best and the worst. This is a brutally honest eulogy.

Can’t think of a better advertisement for @nebula.tv than the fact that the top video on the platform is FD Signifier’s essay on Charlie Kirk, which just got taken down on YouTube, even though YouTube had reviewed that much more censored version of the video and approved it.

Moana 2 wasn't great and it did start as a tv show but I don't understand people still saying it felt like a few eps tied together/ that they could see where the episode breaks used to be. It's no more "episodic" than the original, movies just have scenes. It isn't Atlantis 2 or Kronk's New Groove.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

So you made a robot stand up and talk... now what? In this over 4-hour journey, Kevin follows the promise of Disney's Living Character Initiative, an effort to populate Disney theme parks with free-roaming, interactive beings. It was touted as the future. How's it going? Watch here: bit.ly/49C6vng

My brain: honestly you're not wrong.

Me, outloud: no, that's cannibalism.

What a 🧵
We’re watching a shift where AI simulates the cohesion and reinforcement that used to require an entire online community. A single person can now build a complete parallel reality with nothing more than a prompt window. Which seems bad.

It turns out that the folks at Anthropic used two of my books to train their Large Language Models. I've gone and submitted my claim via the class action settlement. If you're an author whose work has been stolen, you should too

PSA for any Apub authors whose books are in the Anthropic settlement list: Amazon is not participating in the settlement, since they have an investment in Anthropic. When you submit your claim form, you DO NOT have to list Amazon as an add'l rightsholder, & can claim 100% of settlement money.
