Gateophilia. A passion for gates. For their seductive promises & the wildflowers growing near them. For their varying latches and shapes & designs & the satisfying clunk they make as they are closed. For the magic tunnels of light just beyond them which often seem to hint at passage a better world.

Getting very tired of “hard done by” actual millionaire farmers spreading misinformation about a tax (not a fine or punishment) that they either avoid completely or pay half what the rest of “hard done by” millionaires would pay.

So if it's a trade choice between:

a) chlorinated chicken, plastic cheese, nasty chocolate and

b) European food, beer & wine...

...I confess, I have a strong preference for the latter.

Sunak talks about debt

Your honour, may I present the Conservative Party’s debt legacy:

National debt 2010 = £800 billion
National debt 2024 = £2.6 trillion

And we have absolutely nothing to show for it

Sit down Sunak, your lot broke the country

I have now been in office longer than Liz Truss. Feeling a bit like an underachiever as I haven’t sacked a Chancellor, crashed the economy or doubled everyone’s mortgage.

For years the housing crisis has been down to government policies, not migration. There are thousands of vacant properties, building targets have been missed for years. If we spent money we do on deterrents, detention, and deportations on housing we could help everyone

Very, very interesting thread on ‘the anaemia of infection’:
Some convos in the #NEISvoid discussing the low B12/folate/iron combo that's common in chronic complex disease. So let's talk about the "anemia of infection" or the "anemia of chronic disease". Bit of a 🧵, so don't forget to expand the last skeet you see to continue reading! #LongCOVID #MECFS

Coworker saying, "It doesn't matter who wins, neither will make life any better." And it reminds me that the real end game of GOP dysfunction, gumming up passing of bills, disorder, double-speak etc. is this: to convince voters that democracy doesn't work, and fascism will at least "get things done"
