This Christmas morning, I am away from my children & home, helping a dying relative in the final stages.

I’m not complaining.

But you know who else is not complaining?

The Hospice people who came out at 3am.

The home care teams calling by round the clock to help.

They are out there now.

Happy Christmas morning from Holly and me out for our early walk on this magical morning. It was cold and dark with some stars twinkling through the gaps in the clouds.
It was lovely to meet some other early dag-walkers.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Merry Christmas everyone! Sun is returning so should be a pleasant day. Busy prepping since 6am and looking forward to hosting a neighbor who had her Christmas cancelled due to flu in her family. Be safe out there!

Annual reminder to get in the frigging photo! No one's looking at your chins or your arms or your rolls. They're looking at your big smile, your sparkly outfit and your lopsided paper crown. And that's what you'll look back on in 5 years time too. Don't erase yourself from memories.

I have so much to do today. The family will be over in a few hours and there’s still cleaning and food prep to do. Which is to say I spent the last hour adding lights to my Lego village. Frodo is choosing to skateboard into Mordor whereas Gandalf has opted for cross-country skis

Amazingly this zipped through the post-Brexit post, where so many have fallen before.

Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung 1949

There's a reason why so many major German news publications were founded after 1945.
There is a tremendous opportunity for a brand new generation of media outlets to rise up right now because many news outlets that spent decades painstakingly building their credibility are seeing it torched by bootlickers with incredible speed.

Can testify that I went to the National Archives quite a few times when I was working on my history honors thesis and there is so so so much documents. Memos and correspondence and photos and newspaper clippings. It's a treasure trove of the mundane!
