Re last repost - this is very useful information
as someone who sees sentiment data from the other side, assume any free form comment fields are going to be placed in a default word cloud visualization and write lots of words understandable and scary to suits like 'devalue', 'don't', 'leave', 'stop', etc

Oh no! Cancelled due to weather.
If you're in #Sheffield you could meet a movie star tonight. The director (Rowan Athale) & the star (Amir El-Nasry) of the movie #Giant about Sheffield boxer Prince Naeseem Hamed will be at the #Curzon cinema in the town centre for a special preview showing with introduction. 📽 🥊

If you're feeling overwhelmed, you can just go to the search bar on this app and put in "Jeremy's salad" and do whatever the opposite of doom scrolling is. 💕

Today's cinema adventure is an old silent. Back before TV, series were shown in cinemas. This is 3 episodes of a series of Sherlock Holmes stories made wile Conan Doyle was still around. 📽

I've had to watch way too many Christmas romance movies this past December without any trans characters.

Surely if Hallmark and Netflix don't have trans Christmas romance movies, someone out there is writing Christmas romance novels with transfemme protagonists?

This must exist, right?

The cinema I go to is doing a David Lynch season. His films & some of his favourites. Last week was Rear Window and today is Sunset Boulevard, both of which I'd only seen on TV before. Cinema's almost fully booked, which is really great. 😁 📽

Following a spring clean at Longbarrow HQ, I've found a number of hardbacks (ex-bookshop / damaged in transit) that are perfectly readable, but not saleable.

If you're in Sheffield (postcodes S1-S12 only), and you'd like a free book, message your postal address and I'll deliver it over the weekend.

I've only seen 2 or 3 of these before. Here's the whole series. Mr KJC has some serious gingerbread construction skills. 😍
In an effort at something good on the internet today: A thread on Mr KJC, gingerbread architect of the early 21st century.

Mr KJC got his beginnings like so many gingerbread architects: with a kit house for the kids. Kind of fun but the premade pieces are dry and nasty, only technically edible.

Saw Zootropolis tonight. Great fun. 📽
One bit had me (quietly) going 'boing boing motherfucker!'.
Hippos chase our heroes & don't get a boat but go 'we'll go underwater'. They bound along the bottom & bounce up to the surface. Just like in this thread (Nome's threads are awesome).
They're also known from time to time to decide "Fuck this boat in particular" and just chase boats going "BOING BOING MOTHERFUCKER" as they bounce after them.

I'll try a different tactic this time. If you donate to a food bank and brag about it in the comments, I will show you one (1) kitten that we have fostered.
There were times of food insecurity in my house growing up. Those moments were terrifying. Of course I never went without, but in order to make that happen my parents went into crippling credit card debt. And that just made everything worse.

Anyway, please donate money to your local food bank.

Still looking for someone, haven't found a single person so far (that I can contact). I have a 46-episode script that I need translated. This would be a paid job!
Completely unrelated to my 2am doomposting but does anyone know an English to Japanese translator, ideally with experience in screenplays?

Reminder, I'm once more selling to the US! Sent a tester parcel and it all worked fine.

(I'm absolutely screwed on the Etsy algorithm because of time without sales, but I'm doing what I can.)
Looking for a little magic? I'm slowly adding more labradorite pendants, and US shipping is open once more - it may be slower than usual, but nothing has changed on your side (the tariff stuff all gets sorted at my post office).

I have a bunch of really sleep inducing data entry and design work that I really Have To Do.

As it is stuff that requires very little brain, I will need something to distract the rest of mine while I do it.

Thus, I am looking for the podcasts and shows that are diverting you/bringing you joy.

However, we have our cogilicious Steampunk Weekend this Saturday and Sunday, 11th & 12th October and this picture is from our last Steampunk event.
