Today marks the 80th anniversary of the start of the Nuremberg Trials. In 2018, I spent an afternoon with Ben Ferencz who, at the age of 99, was the last living prosecutor of the Nazis. Here’s what he had to say in “Fahrenheit 11/9” about the dark turn the world was taking.

There are certain things that have to be publicly-funded, where the profit-motive always works against good outcomes.

Prisons are #1 on that list, healthcare would be #2. What else should always be publicly-owned?
After 27 years in the U.S., Don Lupe was detained by ICE at his New Jersey workplace. His family and community fought to bring him home. His story shows the quiet, devastating toll these detentions take on families, and the growing rise of raids at NJ bonded warehouses. @documentedny.bsky.social

This is a man whose wife was SHOT IN THE HEAD having to act even-keeled when the President of the United States tries to incite violence against him. Trump has to go, right now.
I've had a missile blow up next to my airplane, been shot at dozens of times by anti-aircraft fire, and launched into orbit — all for my country. I never thought I'd see a President call for my execution.

Trump doesn’t understand the Constitution, and we're all less safe for it.

Trump's Transportation Secretary on how to improve air travel:

"People dress up like they're going to bed when they fly... We want to push people as we come into a really busy travel season, help people out, be in a good mood, dress up"

Guess we're going to have to go back to paper newspapers & classifieds.
So this ad revenue metric is indicative of such a fascinating and weird set of business decisions by Google to inexplicably kill of SEO-- and I honestly don't get how they think this is going to pay off for them in the long run.

Gonna re-up my angry thread about Ronaldo and corruption from yesterday since he’s supposed to show up at the White House today.
A woman reported that Ronaldo assaulted her in Vegas in 2009. "In recent months, Ronaldo has also been part of diplomatic efforts to woo the U.S. President Donald Trump."
The United States Soccer Federation and the Portuguese Football Federation will soon confirm a match between their men’s teams to take place in Atlanta in March 2026.

The match could end an almost 12-year absence for Cristiano Ronaldo from playing football in the U.S.

This is all the data that Elon and the DOGE criminals stole from us in January/February.

Also, only citizens can have voter registrations.
license plate data merged with credit header data, marriage records, vehicle ownership, and voter registrations, in one app for ICE agents. oh and it sends push notifications when someone they're seeking is nearby.

The only good thing the GOP does is pass the buck & shift blame. That cup & ball game is their entire bag.
The WI Legislature has been starving local gov't of resources for decades, and has provided few tools to make up the gap.

One tools is the VRF, or "wheel tax." As we saw in Cudahy last night - where a proposed $50 VRF failed to pass - adding fees to local property taxes is extremely unpopular.
