At the farmer's market today an older gentleman couldn't figure out how to make his venmo work (helped by some younger shoppers) then walked away from the apples he'd just bought right after the vendor reminded him not to do that.

I remember when a writing teacher asked us to raise our hand if we've made more than $5 from our writing. Three of us did.
We were told that's enough to put us in the top 1% of most successful writers through history. A little hyperbole, but not far off. I still think about it.

I think Blue States ought to be giving serious thought to the actual 2nd Amend.--i.e. a state militia that is separate from the National Guard which can't be federalized and answers ultimately to the governor. Trump's first year has demonstrated the need for security forces that don't answer to him.
