Just my 2 cents. But my goal is to ignore the trolls. Give them zero attention. Block them if they annoy me.

I think the worst thing we can do on this site is re-create the ad hominem/ personal attacks that occur across comments on Twitter/insta/tiktok/ etc

This is basic Emperor's New Clothes criteria: If you, as a reporter, can't make sense of a presidential candidate deciding to dance (slightly) to music for 40 minutes as opposed to answer questions at a Q&A event, you are part of the posse admiring his amazing clothes
🎯: "Reporters still seem unsure of how to deal with Trump’s stranger behaviors. Journalists are trained to take information and make sense of it, even amid chaos. The problem is that doing so conjures logic where none exists."
Trump Breaks Down Onstage — The Atlantic

Arguing with internet strangers who don’t want to vote (for whatever reason) is probably not nearly as effective as volunteering with voter mobilization organizations who help people who want to vote to do so.

The cat's out of the bag, baby. I'm adapting MANHUNT for TV with Lilly Wachowski, and I couldn't be prouder or more excited to be writing it. We're going to do our damnedest to bring this thing kicking, screaming, and queer as hell onto the screen.

this reminds me of when someone asked Idris Elba at the height of the MeToo movement if he thought the climate was suddenly more scary for men and his answer was basically like “well, for men who are predators, yeah”

he himself was like “this is good shit, bring it”

people (on here) yelled at me about this when i said it before but a) you need traffic enforcement and b) speed cameras are vastly preferable to cops.
“…when speed cameras are doing the ticketing, the proportion of tickets issued to Black and white drivers aligns closely with their respective share of roadway users. With human enforcement, in contrast, police officers stop Black drivers at a rate that far outstrips their presence on the road.”
Police stop more Black drivers, while speed cameras issue unbiased tickets − new study from Chicago
‘Driving while Black’: Researchers found that Black drivers make up 70% of police traffic stops on roads where only half the drivers are Black.
