1/ I worked at DoD. I literally cannot imagine lawyers coming up with a legal basis for lethal strike of suspected Venezuelan drug boat.

Hard to see how this would not be "murder" or war crime under international law that DoD considers applicable.

Legal Issues Raised by a Lethal U.S. Military Attack in the Caribbean
The Trump administration’s extraordinary lethal attack on this purported smuggling vessel raises significant potential legal issues.

I want “Trump judge” to mean incompetent toady hack and become shorthand for illegitimate bs that no one needs to take seriously. All their rulings should come with asterisks and be disqualified from citation. Just bringing them up in court should get you openly mocked as if you cited Santa Claus

Welp, they're back. Legislators say tomorrow they'll begin the mark-up proposal and try to push them out of committee.

My point is that the problem with good practical governance is the same problem with vaccines. When it works too well, people stop believing they need it.

DOGE dissolving a massive amount of the federal workforce is going to open up chasms in service and competence ppl would have never anticipated.

I talk privately to Candace Owens fans all day long.

This really makes me nervous and I don’t say that easily.
1. This is so dangerous.

Candace Owens tells her large fanbase filled with radicalized vigilantes and self-appointed intelligence officers that they should be deeply suspicious of Ukrainian refugees, as they may be operating as agents of French and/or Israeli intelligence.

Even if you've never been on a boat, and never plan on being on a boat.... This still needs to worry you! 80% of the world's goods are transported by boat at some point in the supply chain.

Cargo ships would be impacted by this, and it will then impact our supply of essential goods.

Ohhh now this is a difficult one. I support danmei. But a whole series revolving around the plot of how many ways are there to make Cheng Lei take his shirt off... is not that far off from my core values, either. And Song Yi was spectacular in that catsuit. And... 😅😅😳

Since the 1980s I have tried to limit my air travel to airlines owned outside the united states (including trying to check for crosslisted flights). If you have that option, I highly recommend it. For many reasons.
The Trump DOT is weakening consumer protections, including killing a rule that would have mandated compensation for major delays and cancellations.

"The DOT’s agenda reads like it was copy-pasted directly from … the lobbying arm of the largest carriers,"

Yep. This is literally how it goes with popular media. Books, film, television, everything.

The majority of what you put out will break even, be a mild success, or lose money. But you'll have a scant handful of superstars that basically pay for everything else.
I'm starting to really believe that the only way to get a runaway success is for companies to fund like 20 new projects, 19 of them will either fail or make no impression, and then the 20th will resonate with audiences and create tons of merch opportunities like Bluey or KPop Demon Hunters
