Brown University is such a treasured place and community for me. It’s where I truly grew up, made lifelong friends, and became much of the person I am today. My heart breaks for students, faculty, and their family members who are dealing with unimaginable fear. Stay safe, Brunonians. #EverTrue

One of the foundational moments of this country, and one that used to be one of immense pride, was when John Adams, eventual 2nd President, defended in court the British soldiers accused of the Boston Massacre, protecting them from the mob. Everyone, for all of our history, is owed due process.

Cory Booker will break the record for longest Senate floor speech at 7:19 PM EDT. Fewer than 2 hours from now. The record is held by Strom Thurmond, who was arguing for segregation. GO CORY, GO!

I’m proud @booker.senate.gov is my Senator. The Constitution gives many weapons to the current minority. Use them all.

I, for one, welcome the “abundance” fight. It shows the left can fight Trumpism while wrestling with how we can be better than we’ve been.

I have no interest in “actually the government has been doing great” liberalism.

About fifty years ago, NASA strapped a message in a bottle to a rocket and flung it into the deep dark
It wasn’t supposed to go this far, but it did. Long past its mission, it’s still out there so far away now that a simple hello takes a day to reach it, and another day to hear if it says hello back

@booker.senate.gov Do NOT vote for cloture tomorrow. Stand up for the people who fight, and don’t give an inch to tyrants who want to use the government as a checkbook and hurt as many people as possible. Stand for something. Stand for us.
