The 15th of March is LC Awareness Day!

On this day we acknowledge Australians impacted by and living with LC.

I see you, hear and believe you.
The gaslighting from clinicians and the community has to stop and I hope that there are promising treatments coming soon.

Long Covid patients that I see are getting younger. Avoid infections, breathe clean air, wear a respirator. Covid is airborne. There’s no treatment for Covid or long covid. Covid damages organs, immune system, can maim and cause death. Mitigate!

To LC patients- I see you.
We stand together.

And remember that the only perfectly effective strategy for #longCOVID is prevention. No, I am not afraid. Why should I be when I am in a fit-tested respirator?!

So many think pieces around right now, looking back at the ‘dark times’ 5 years ago when COVID was declared a pandemic by WHO.

Sorry folks - dark times are still with us. COVID may be killing fewer people, but its unmitigated spread is causing long term health problems in millions globally

We must all provide support and join the call for research and a remedy for LC.

CDC releases data about H5N1 which indicates cases are going undetected.

This report coming out the day RFK Jr is confirmed to lead HHS feels ominous.

We desperately need oversight & public health comms on this threat as well as Influenza A which hospitals are reporting is worse seen in years:
After delay, CDC releases data signaling bird flu spread undetected in cows and people
After going quiet on bird flu, CDC scientists have published a report on its spread among veterinarians. The findings suggest a need for better surveillance.

I like the quiet on here from no outrage algorithm but it’s hard to tell whether some of the stuff I post gets seen because there’s never much engagement. Maybe that will change over time because I’m still new. For now, it’s hard to know if I’m just posting these long threads into the void. Oh well.
