Grief is wondering how those outside can go on, chatting, making jokes. Why don't they want to draw a black curtain around themselves too? But also a comforting distraction to look out and see life with its normalcy and easiness is still there while everything here is dark and hard.

As this vote moves to the House, I stand with Democratic leadership as they refuse to rubber stamp the full-scale Republican assault on Americans’ health care and I am proud of the majority of Senate Democrats who opposed this vote.
