it says a lot about the state of Twitter when perpetual anger, fear and distrust is so normalized that any place that feels remotely positive puts people on edge. I get the shared trauma/borderline Stockholm of it all, but it’s sad really.
Remember to take breaks. Social media isn’t real life.

Shoujo enlightenment is realizing that no matter how many times you explain demographics, their importance, or calling out systemic misogyny in the anime/manga industry, some people just refuse to listen.
You can educate, but you can’t force someone to learn. Arguing with brick walls is never fun

It’s why Im mainly here now. I was tired of being sent death threats, gore, violent rhetoric and dehumanization on a regular basis for being a trans woman that talks about anime and manga
Some of it was because I openly advocate for feminine media and rep but mostly it was for the crime of existing

The relationship between Anne of Green Gables and anime is one of my all time favorites. I always go out of my way to watch both the original and the prequel every couple of years.
It holds a very special and nostalgic place in my heart so seeing a new adaptation brings a smile to my face.

This is another interesting point. There is already a Crunchyroll News that Sony owns. Should they also acquire Anime News Network, they would identify this as a redundancy and consolidate. We have seen from precedent the way they would most likely do that; they’d possibly just want Crunchyroll News
When I was writing daily at Crunchyroll, the News side did have the necessary leeway to ignore Rurouni Kenshin based on editorial sentiment. However, they did bring the hammer down on coverage of criminal incidents that made industry personalities look bad.
