The term “visitability” refers to building homes in a way that allows those with mobility issues to be able to visit as easily as anyone else.

This accessibility design is cost-effective when built-in from the start and reduces social isolation related to being unable to visit family and friends.

One of the weirdest things about graveyard shift is getting a lot of your historical news early and some of it very late. I watched the 2000 election count unfold and saw an exhausted Dan Rather announce live that Gore withdrew his concession. Then I woke up at 3pm on 9/11.
Night shift people are going to be sitting impatiently at the kitchen table when everyone else wakes up

Completely agree. Always pull these threads back to the Reagan Administration and Bush I.
Once again, one of the primary reasons we have arrived at this point (completely out-of-control & unconstitutional abuse of executive power to conduct wildly illegal foreign policy) is that no one, including the most senior people involved, went to jail for the rest of their lives for Iran-Contra.

Speaking ill of the dead is controversial, particularly when it was a violent death. It’s edgy; it’s sensitive; best avoided in most cases, etc.

Baselessly making another person’s murder *about yourself,* and then approving of it, is a different thing. That is delusional, narcissistic, sociopathic.

Level 36 is in the books.

Starting Level 37 today!

Feels fitting to celebrate with some of my Pokémon since I first started my journey 27 years ago with a Gameboy Pocket, Pokémon Blue, and a Squirtle I named Bubbles.

a load-bearing component of “the magic of Christmas” is the invisible domestic labor of moms

you are now realizing how much she was doing for you and instead of just thanking her you’ve decided it’s about the decline of civilization
Because you're an adult you fucking muppet. You gotta pay the magic forward.

On top of this, Trump has:

-Prevented the NLRB from operating
-Reversed Biden's minimum wage hike for federal contractors
-Gutted OSHA
-Rolled back dozens of workplace health & safety regulations
-Dropped the FTC’s support for a noncompete ban

The “pro-worker" president.
NEW: This year, Trump ended collective bargaining rights for 1 million federal workers — ending union protections for 1 in 14 unionized workers in the U.S.

No, Trump hasn’t helped workers. He’s helped bosses exploit them. Lawrence S. Wittner in @inequality.org:
Donald Trump, Union Buster
Trump's second term in office has been an all-out assault on organized labor.

What do these corporations have in common?

Netflix
Ford
Tesla
T-Mobile
Duke Energy
DISH Network
Metlife
Dominion Energy
United States Steel

In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes.

This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

Finally tally after my revival spree.

50 Jaw Fossils:
49 Male
1 Female
0 Alpha
0 Shiny

Sail Fossil:
40 Male
10 Female
2 Alpha (both female)
0 Shiny

Time to go and save up some more to try it again.
So apparently you can get Alpha fossils in Pokémon Legends Z-A, which I just learned after buying 50 of each Jaw and Sail Fossils in hopes of finding a shiny.

I'm through 75 of the fossils currently and found this lovely lady. Hoping the remaining 25 Sail Fossils grant a shiny.

We have an unofficial competition in our family when we get a new Pokémon title to see who gets the first shiny Pokémon encounter not programed into the game.

We got Pokémon Legends Z-A over the weekend, but only two cartridges spilt between the three of us. So kiddo and I have been playing while

It took four hours, a couple breaks, and over 40 resets later after getting Legends Z-A to get my female Chikorita. But she's mine and we are so ready to go.

Here's another bit of conventional wisdom Zohran completely blew away: His speech was at well above a 10th-grade level. It was complex, erudite, punctuated by deep and fluent references. You don't have to condescend to voters with baby talk! Part of re-establishing norms is speaking like an adult.

As many have pointed out, Mamdani didn't stand apart from our trans brothers and sisters. He didn't play the "Gee, gosh, it sure is complicated," milquetoast moderate card. And he crushed.

The way forward is together, not over the bodies of our own.

🔥 ZOHRAN: “My friends, we have toppled a political dynasty. I wish Andrew Cuomo all the best in private life, but let tonight be the final time I utter his name — as we turn the page on a politics that abandons the many and answers only to the few.”

Turn the volume up indeed.

So a war criminal dies and we elect a democratic socialist mayor of New York on the same day.

Honestly, even if everything else politically went wrong today, I'd still feel hopeful. But it didn't go wrong.
