So... I grew up on an old horse farm in East Central Illinois. Across the road lived the proprietor of the Greek family restaurant in town. His name was Pete Poulos and he was, in fact, Greek.

This was literally me. I bought a Christmas ornament once that was a kitty with wings and one of the wings was broken, and the cashier said “oh it’s broken. You want to go grab another?” I said “no, no one else will want him.” My ex-husband was so used to this, we had so many broken tchotchkes.

I had a teenage girl come into my tea shop with her mother the other night. She purposely grabbed a teamaker in the most crunched-up looking box on the shelf (got banged around in shipment) and carried it protectively over to the counter. "If something's in a damaged box I have to get it because I'm afraid no one else will love it," she laughed nervously.
Not only will humans pack bond with anything, the empathy level of adolescent girls in particular likely has puppy-saving, world hunger-solving, war-ending powers.

I once saw a really bumpy lime at the grocery store, just a real ugly fruit. Later that night my boyfriend & I were driving home from rehearsal at like 11:30pm & passed the grocery store & I stared crying & he said "is it that lime? Do you want to go back and get it?" And I nodded and pulled the car around and bought the lime.

i was getting into painting along with episodes of Bob Ross, shortly before me and the cats had to skedaddle out of that place because the neighbors were poisoning us (ozone generators have no place on the consumer market)

You can see him explain in this documentary produced by a PBS station years ago, which is free to watch on YouTube; it's about 1-1/4 hour long. It describes how he painted 3 copies of each per episode: 1 before that he looked at while on air, 1 during taping, 1 after to photograph for his books.

??? I know what romanization is, I’ve been using it for like 30 years while learning Japanese. I’m trying to parse pronunciation of double consonants and have no experience with Hangeul writing system and its phonetic equivalents. South Korea, specifically.
