It is not coincidental that most of those people also insist art is worthless.
Muppets Christmas Carol still good. It is interesting how we have all these lessons growing up telling us to be better and so many still just grow up to be Scrooge

The USPS faces a tight squeeze. With fewer people using the mail, it’s lost more and more money: $9 billion in the 12 months ending in September alone.

The Playmates toys was arguably responsible for making TMNT the juggernaut franchise that it has been to this day. It truly is the end of an era (those vintage toys will surely soar in value too).

Paramount the "pro-theater" studio kicking "Legend of Aang" into a streaming ditch. Can't imagine what the talent behind this film are going through right now.

Now would be a really good time for independent news outlets to drop secure signal contacts to people working at CBS and especially 60 minutes, and especially on the CECOT piece.

I hope at least THEY understand the value of whistleblowing.

Maybe a Democratic rep could do the same.

If ANY Republican starting with Nixon had met with the business end of consequences for their actions in office, Trump wouldn't have happened.
I’ll say this for George W. Bush: he’s an unindicted war criminal who should spend the rest of his life in prison and if he and his co-conspirators had been made to face consequences, Trump never would have happened.
Yeah it’s nice to see someone from The Bush Institute speaking up for Ukraine.. might’ve been even better if it was almost 4 years ago.. but I guess we take this

Brainiac at LONG last in a Superman movie. Whether he's more akin to the Silver Age comics or DCAU version, I'm eager to see this take on the character.
In our worldwide search for Brainiac in Man of Tomorrow, Lars Eidinger rose to the top.
Welcome to the DCU, Lars.

New Illustration: "We Beat 'Em Before..."

Taken from a British WW2 poster, the original features a WW1 German soldier at the top. I just swapped it for the Nazi soldier it had at the bottom.

She-Ra, along with Voltron, Kipo, and Trollhunters, were all part of a massive deal between DreamWorks animation and Netflix. The shows do not belong to Netflix and the contract with DreamWorks has expired. This is why these programs have left or are leaving. They will probably surface on Peacock.
‘She-Ra and the Princesses of Power’ is scheduled to leave Netflix on February 21, 2026.

ALWAYS.

WITHOUT FAIL.
Donald Trump has instructed the entire FBI to prioritize finding ways to bring charges against anti-fascists and other activists. Any FBI agent who wants to advance his career now has an incentive to set up naïve kids for an entrapment case.

Please read about entrapment and how to protect yourself.

Looks like whatever legalities with Apple has finally been resolved. "Killers of the Flower Moon" was certainly another Scorsese classic and I'm glad Criterion is the one to release it. More than ever we need boutique labels to rescue films from streaming purgatory.

Every film-centric post on current Twitter and Threads is either:

“Everyone thinks CLASSIC MOVIE is good but it’s actually awful—why is no one talking about this?!”

or

“Every single scene in CITIZEN KANE was improvised and Orson Welles refused to use CGI.”
"Bluesky is an echo chamber."
"Bluesky doesn't have enough reach"
"Liberals must return to X to challenge the far right"

I'm not a tech bro or a journalist. Your priorities are not my priorities. Stop telling me I need to do anything other than chat about comics & telly with people who seem nice.

When Harry Met Sally has an impeccable script, of course, but SO much of the comedy in that movie is in the directing. Where would Harry’s confession about his wife leaving him be without the wave interrupting it at a baseball game? Also, the most gorgeous fall shot in history?
