Watched Perks of Being a Wallflower last night and was not expecting that brutalism and painful twist near the end. A moving and good movie.

Contra the latest NYT bit - SO MANY YOUNG PEOPLE at rallies and protests in NC. And brave ones - when they and their parents are the ones being profiled and dragged out of their cars, churches, grocery stories, school parking lots.
This is one of my Duke students. High schoolers spoke as well.

Once again, I really hope Aus Labor is watching Mamdani.

Particularly Albo and Rudd, after their complete shit show of a meeting where they handed over all our precious minerals and said the country can be a pseudo US base.
Q: Just days ago you referred to Trump as a 'despot.' Will you retract?

MAMDANI: We're both very clear on our positions & what I really appreciate about the president is our meeting focused not on places of disagreement but shared purpose we have

TRUMP: I've been called much worse than a despot

An utter disgrace. A Trumpian level of destruction being wrought at the CSIRO under Albo.

"The environment unit, which has more than 700 full-time equivalent roles, will be reduced by 130 to 150. Four of its nine research focuses will not continue"
Climate of fear: are CSIRO’s sweeping job cuts a sign Australia doesn’t care about the extinction crisis?

Albanese is a weak and ineffective PM and the ALP has done nothing but squander it’s massive majority in parliament and suck up to the fossil fuel and mining industries. A shame but not a surprise.
paging @leanaustralia.bsky.social & the allegedly pro-environment Labor MPs Josh Burns, Renee Coffey, Ged Kearney, Jerome Laxale, Alicia Payne, Sally Sitou, Kate Thwaites & Josh Wilson — anyone in Labor give a rats about Big Business hijacking & pile driving regression into #EPBC laws??
