It is with great sadness that the University shares the news of the death of Professor Sir John Gurdon, founder of the @gurdoninstitute.bsky.social

Well this is exciting. From a basic science collaboration with
@prof-clark.bsky.social and Paul Bishop, to a spin-out, and now into the clinic.

Been some journey. Congratulations to everyone at Complement Therapeutics. This is an outstanding achievement.

Very sad to learn of the death of Sir John Gurdon. He made a huge contribution to developmental biology & should be an inspiration to anyone whose potential is dismissed in school. It was a pleasure to work with him when he was Chair of the COB Board. www2.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk/john-gurdon-...

I'm Jewish. I'm also Mancunian.

Every other national party leader was interviewed by Laura Kunesberg during their conference.

Maybe the BBC thought as someone who also supports Palestine - I had nothing to say?

While doing research on ancient languages for a novel I'm working on I discovered Dr. Martin Worthington at Cambridge University. After years of study, he's come up with an approximation of Akkadian. You can listen to The Epic of Gilgamesh here:

Hear The Epic of Gilgamesh Read in the Original Akkadian and Enjoy the Sounds of Mesopotamia
This clip gives you a taste of what Gilgamesh, one of the earliest known works of literature, sounds like in its mother tongue, Akkadian.

Agreed. Outlook searching is a nightmare.

I said it before and I'll say it again: The whole Microsoft package Outlook, Teams, etc are literally the worst software package ever created. They give us emoji to respond, but emails would be packed into chains that are so difficult to find or even to delete. Clunky and unintuitive.

"We're going to create superintelligence" How about making outlook search work first. How about that

For the first time ever, London has met legal limits for nitrogen dioxide.

When I became Mayor, we were told it would take 193 years. We did it 184 years earlier than expected.

ACOG reaffirms that acetaminophen is safe for managing pain and fever during pregnancy. No reputable studies support suggestions like those in HHS’s recent announcement linking acetaminophen use in pregnancy to autism; in fact, high-quality studies show no such risk. https://bit.ly/47Wxc59

This will only be heard by those who want to hear it. Us evidence-based people need to change our strategy and simply make bad stuff up about RFK and Trump!
