I like my dogs, but I miss my best friend.

I like sports, but don’t root for ownership groups.

I dislike the police state.

Perpetually screaming now that the problems with our economy aren’t from OTHER nations, but the parasitic capitalist class WITHIN our nation.

Believing that your average Vietnamese or Chinese worker is getting wealthy immiserating American workers due to a trade deficit is ninth circle stupid

BREAKING: Marjorie Taylor Greene's bill to criminalize parents and providers for providing gender-affirming care to anyone under 18 just passed.

It's the most significant attempt by federal lawmakers to restrict the healthcare for children in the US. My update: www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
Health workers decry hasty House bills to ban gender-affirming care for children: ‘They hurt people’
Two bills, one passing House, mark first time Congress votes over national care bans and escalation of anti-trans rhetoric

Now this is something I’d LOVE to see the “vote blue no matter who” crowd defend. IS THIS NOT CONCERNING AS FUCK?? Couple that with “wanting people to be NORMAL again”, no. Absolutely fucking not. I’ve had ENOUGH. I will not be voting newscum and I will drag ALL Of blue down with me. Fuck this

Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth. Except Buffalo, whose plan is to get punched in the mouth.
Wow.

This Pats-Bills game is over already.

Pats up 21-0.

Bills didn't even bother to show up.

MELIA needed a break from the noisy shelter. She enjoys car rides, walks, playing. Please watch this video. See how calm, sweet, loving she is once she gets to know you. All she needs is that chance.

I hate my pessimism, but I feel existential dread at the certainty that *if* Dems retake power, they won't have the will to undo what Trump, SCOTUS, and the hyper wealthy elite have done.

The ostensible "party of FDR" will say "nothing will fundamentally change" and leave the new status quo alone.

A snake crawled out of the grass. “If Toad looks funny in his bathing suit,” said the snake, “then I, for one, want to see him.”

“We want to see him too,” said two dragonflies.

“Me too,” said a field mouse. “I have not seen anything funny in a long time.”

This new season of 24 with Jack Bauer torturing people "just because he can" is kind of ass.
They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.

Amnesty International, interviewing migrant detainees, identifies use of the confinement box. There can be no denying it is a torture prison

The Supreme Court, Presidency, Senate and two party system are all quite anti-democratic institutions as presently constructed.

Our institutions are not only incapable of preventing tyranny—they’re currently enabling it.

When democracy returns, we need to reform our political system.

The next administration (inshallah) needs to not pretend this is a normal changing of the guard and instead treat their job as a complete De-Ba'athification of the government and the expropriation and criminal indictment of everyone who profited during this admin.

It boggles my mind how the vast majority of people don't see the connection of austerity in every aspect of our lives and the incredible amount of wealth controlled by the wealthy.

Are you surprised when you find out so-and-so is a multi-billionaire? The concept was almost unthinkable 50 years ago!

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

And even if everything they said was true (again: it’s not, they are LYING), it’s still simply not an act of war to smuggle drugs!

This is absolutely SURREAL that people are taking any of this as anything but outright flagrant murder.
All this focus on the egregious “second tap” shouldn’t obscure the fact that NONE OF THIS IS LEGAL or makes any sense whatsoever. Fentanyl doesn’t come from Venezuela. Drug runners don’t usually travel with a crew of 11 people. It was nowhere near the US.

We never paid for the original sin of our country and we let it fester and now we have a hate-filled spigot spewing racism with zero checks and balances.
Trump, continued: "What the Somalian people have done to Minnesota is not even believable. It’s not even believable. And a lot of it starts with the governor. A lot of it starts with Barack HUSSEIN Obama, because that’s when people started coming in... They want to kiss our country good night."
